So. I wrote my first college essay, and it took me an embarrassing number of hours to finish. Gave it to my English and Journalism teachers, who, upon reading it, wondered if I might want to go in a different direction. *Bows head in shame

Just taking a look back into the past few years, my friends have all been through a shitload with guys. At no one time did all of us have a steady boyfriend. And that's still true. But it's kind of amazing how at the end of this summer, all of them got what they wanted. At least for a little while. And if it was short-lived, it ended happily

So I read "As I Lay Dying" by William Faulkner. I believe that my two favorite sentences, which can be found on page 66, pretty much sum up the experience:
"Because I am a country boy because boys in town. Bicycles."
And trust me, it does not make any more sense in context.
