Bah - I was arguing that it would have been better if it weren't so heavy handed and misrepresented. I don't mind ambition, I don't mind morality plays - hell some of my favorite kids films include The Fox and the Hound, The Rats of Nimh and The Iron Giant - but this got way too one sided and political.
Hey, no prob. And actually, my true intentions were to educate - that's the point of all my reviews. I give people the tools they need to make decisions on what movie to see - and in this case, based upon what's right for their family. That people are more interested is great. It gives them something new to watch and think about in regards to what I wrote. Which is a big part of why I write - to get people to think. Not to tell them what to think. Which is only one of the many problems I have with HF. I strongly feel it does the latter

THE SECRET OF NIMH scared the piss out of me too (I'm so late replying to this). I rented it again a few years ago to see if I could identify with any of the themes I remembered from my childhood and it turns out that I understood it as a different story and message altogether as an adult. The same thing happened with a rental of Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music and a few others. Maybe I'll go on about this in my own post at some point.
