Um, nope. Did you? I find it unbelievable that Johnny Depp is playing "an ordinary American" based on the trailer haha. Plus I think the reviews weren't that great so I gave it a miss. Maybe when it's on cable!

Yeah I watched it last night.

I won't say it's his greatest role, because it obviously isn't.

The plot and all that was okay, though he didn't look particularly dashing like he does IRL.

You shouldn't take the trailers at face value, is all I will say.

I think the reviews weren't great because people's expectations were raised sky high based on the cast (mine was raised too). If you remove the 2 big names from the movie, it would have been a good movie.

Oh okay, but I think I'll just wait for it to be on TV or something -- there's too much stuff opening now I want to watch too!

I just realised you haven't done any of your movie reviews recently! Just stopped writing/busy or haven't seen anything? :o

I watched Love and Other Drugs while I was in DC. It spoke to me on so many different levels! Ok it's a chick flick to begin with and it has a lot of naked Anne and naked Jake (which I was not expecting, I went to the movie without knowing what it was about). But the whole drug rep thing ... and the whole Parkinson's thing ... I had so many bones to pick but it was also quite devastating! Sigh! By the way drug reps aren't that aggressive in real life when it comes to their predatory ways.

You mentioned so much food and shopping but neglected to mention this! I can't say I related to the story much but the strange thing is, I was just telling a friend that it's not so much a chick flick (doesn't really check all the boxes), it's more of a rom-com? Anyway, good to know that about drug reps -- I was somewhat disturbed by how he was continuously throwing away his competitor's Prozac and having them picked up by some homeless guy o_O

Ha ha. I forgot! I will forget unless I take pictures of what I did .. and of course it was mostly of food and shopping! You're right, it's a rom-com, I need to watch more chick flicks to get a feel of chick flicks.
