I´ve been looking forward to this city the most on the whole trip, and it has turned out to be fantastic! Mérida is a huge, full-modern city, with narrow streets (and barely any sidewalk) that many tourists fly to, routing themselves in a nice cush hotel and taking day trips to neighboring ruin sites. I can see why, its very western. Old-style colonial mansions line the street Paseo de Montejo, and in the south end are tons of shopping streets filled ( Read more... )

This last stop in the state of Chiapas has some of the coolest things going on- first of all, we took a tour to the great waterfall of Misol-Ha, set out amidst the lush jungle, where we got to hike up behind the falls to the top, then into a dark cave where the source of water is.
