this is my first month of using the nuvaring, i took it out the 14th of august and its the 18th and i havnt gotten my period. my boyfriend and i weren't using a condom when having sex. why havnt i gotten my period yet, is it because its my first months use? and if i dont get it before the end of my off week do i put another one in regardless?

It's completely normal. Sometimes it takes a while for our bodies to adjust to the hormones. I wound up getting the withdrawal bleed around day 5-6 for the first 3-4 months I was on it, and after a while, it got situated so I'd get it 3-5 days into my ring free week. Go about your normal schedule and insert the ring on your normal day even if you haven't started bleeding at that point. Like I said, bodies can have a period of adjustment when it comes to hormones, so this is completely normal assuming you've followed all the directions(inserting a new ring if its been out for more than 3 hours consecutively, waiting the 7 days before having unprotected sex).
