I read about that earlier this morning and was completely furious. And then the comments on the article were all very homophobic comments about how it was HER fault and that SHE ruined prom for everyone. I just want to go down there and slap every one of them. It's the School District that canceled the fucking prom because they were too pigheaded to let her bring her girlfriend. I think it's disgusting and vile and personally, I am incredibly grateful that despite my school's flaws it did at least allow me to bring my own girlfriend to Prom.

I wish that I could tell that poor girl that everything will be okay, but man, as a lesbian that grew up in South Carolina I KNOW that she's going to be bullied for the rest of her school year. Maybe longer than that. It's just disgusting how fucked up this world is. I mean, c'mon, just let us be happy. We aren't bothering them at all. UGH.

I'm really just too angry to say anything. Why is it an issue at all? Why couldn't they just let her take whoever her girlfriend and wear a tux? Big fucking deal. It's her school, she has rights.

That makes me rage so damn much. I'm glad that the ACLU is suing their asses. I just don't get why they had to cancel the whole damn prom. What, was her gayness going to get on all the other students or something?
