i don't know if you want to go there, but maybe you can be firm with ms. m. like we were talking about last night, for all she knows, you could be a single mother of two trying to pay for rent, other bills, daycare, school, etc. for all she knows you just flat out don't have the money to be spending on hotels or babysitters for your kids or gas money, etc. hell you could barely be squeezing by! not to mention the fact that you'd be gone from work for 3-4 days. i don't see how they can require you to go out of state like that. and its relatively short notice. i mean, its one thing if its over summer/christmas break, but a couple weeks before finals?! that's nuts! or if they would've told you last semester like in october, 'hey there is a competition next april, be ready.' but c'mon youve known for what a month? that's beside the point. i'm totally on your side for this one, tare

When it comes to computers, appearance means almost nothing. But the fact is hardly anybody uses them (in science and the corporate world) and are just annoying in general to try to do things with them. Things they are good for are multimedia and video editing, but if you wanna do anything serious, stick w/ IBM's
