Victoria released a content sigh as she snuggled closer to Amber’s body, enjoying the warmth and smell that belonged to her girlfriend. She was over-joyed that Amber had returned from her long hiatus and was now back to offer her love and comfort. Victoria knew that she was very lucky to have someone like Amber to take care of her. The tomboy never ceased to tend to her every need, going from: carrying Victoria’s luggage, massaging her aches and pains away, kissing the tiredness away from her eyes, making her herbal tea to sooth her pounding head, and even carrying her to bed when she fell asleep on the couch due to overworking. Amber was her constant support, like a pillar that kept her up and functioning. Words could not describe how much she loved Amber for just being there to unconditionally love her. The Chinese girl had felt like a piece of her heart had gone missing when Amber announced that she was leaving for the states to heal her injured ankle. Of course Amber had told her ahead of time, but, all the same, Victoria was unhappy to know that the younger girl would be gone for so long. To Victoria’s surprise, Amber did not return alone, because on the night the blonde returned she brought with her the shining platinum couple rings that now rested on her and Victoria’s ring fingers. Letting out a silent giggle, Victoria lifted her left hand to gaze warmly at the ring that shimmered on her ring finger, an extravagant gift that also held a promise of eternal love and care. Resting her hand back in the blondes, the older girl let her thoughts wander back to the time she had been foolish enough to reject the younger girl’s confession of love, only to find out later that she felt the same way.
Flashback
“Vic, I love you. So please, will you go out with me?” questioned Amber as she kneeled on one knee and held the bouquet of white lilies out to the older girl. Victoria’s eyes widened with shock as she stared at the kneeling blond before her who was putting her heart on the line.
“I-I-I’m sorry. I don’t feel the same way”, replied the Chinese girl who then ran away from the scene, her heart pounding and her mind dizzy with thoughts. Back in the changing room, Amber felt tears trickle down her eyes as she angrily threw the lilies at the wall, smashing the delicate flowers to pieces. Pulling her knees to her chest, she began to sob her heart out, pondering, “Why? Why had she been stupid enough to confess?” She was so lost in thought as she sobbed that she didn’t notice that Krystal had walked into the room.
“Amber? Is that you?” questioned the raven head as recognized the blond and loudly shouted, “What the hell happened? Why are you crying?” Dashing over to the sobbing blonde, Krystal wrapped her arms around the taller girl who muttered in between her tears, “Vic..confessed...rejected..it hurts..” Slowly figuring out what had happened, Krystal flipped out her phone and called her girlfriend, Sulli, telling her to come to the costume room immediately. Several minutes later, Sulli rushed in, frantically looking around the room in alarm, worried that something had happened to her precious princess. She calmed when her eyes landed on her princess who was hugging her sobbing hyung and trying to get the older girl to stop crying.
“What happened?” mouthed Sulli as she gave Krystal a questioning look while staring worriedly at her Amber-hyung.
“Amber-appa confessed to Vic-umma and Vic-umma rejected her and ran away”, the Korean-American girl mouthed back with an angry look in her eyes. Telling Sulli to comfort Amber, Krystal set out to search for Victoria. Finding the older Chinese girl flirting with Nickhun only caused the ice princess’ anger to rise to a dangerous level. Marching up to the older artists, she grabbed Victoria by the arm, shot Nickhun a soul-freezing glare, and dragged the Chinese girl to a private room to talk. As soon as they entered the room, Krystal lifted her hand and let it fly across her unnie’s face before shouting angrily.
“What is wrong with you?! First you reject poor Amber-unnie, who is head-over-heels in love with you and now you’re flirting with Nickhun? Do you even have a heart?” heaved the red faced girl who was trying to catch her breath after yelling so loudly.
“L-love? Amber is in love with me?” stuttered the Chinese girl who had a hand on her injured face. Victoria did not understand how she felt about Amber but she knew that she loved Amber in way that could not be referred to as ‘just friends’. She knew Amber loved her, but she was scared, scared that Amber was just going to mess with her heart and leave her. The older girl felt tears slowly slide down her checks as she whispered, “What have I done? I just rejected the love of my life..” Realizing that she may have made the biggest mistake of her life, Victoria rushed out of the room and ran as fast as she could back to the costume room only to find a scared Sulli and no sign of the blonde.
“Where did Amber go?” shouted Victoria as she began to feel the guilt of hurting the blond weigh heavily on her heart.
“I don’t know. She pulled away from me after she stopped crying and got up muttering something about ‘going to her secret place’ and before I could stop her, she jumped on her motorcycle and drove away”, sighed the young brunette while pinching the bridge of her nose in agitation. Suddenly a memory popped into Victoria’s mind and she recalled in one of her late night conversations with Amber that the younger girl had told her that she had a love of rivers because they made her feel free. Quickly heading out of the SMent building, she ran to her car and sped off to the one river she knew Amber had to be at. Reaching her destination, she parked her car and ran across the bridge that led to a small clearing in the forest that overlooked the river. As she entered the clearing, she spotted the blond resting against a rock while gazing at the luminescent water. She was about to call out to the younger girl but when she heard the soft and melodic lyrics that came out of the blondes mouth, she felt like her heart had gone to heaven and come back.

Tears shed down the brunettes eyes as she slowly approached the blonde and wrapped her arms tightly around the stunned younger girls shoulders and whispered, “I’m sorry for hurting you. I was stupid to reject your love. The truth is, I, Victoria Song, am in love with you, Amber Josephine Liu.” Amber froze as she heard the words come out of the older girl’s mouth and traveled to her brain, nulling all her thoughts and emotions. Deciding to do what her heart told her, Amber turned and cupped the brunette’s cheek before leaning down and pressing her warm lips against the soft, pink ones of her love. Victoria, though shocked by the sudden contact, immediately returned the kiss, deepening it by moving her lips against the blondes. Letting her tongue graze her lover’s bottom lip, Amber silently asked for entrance and was granted it once the older girl parted her lips. The blonde explored her lover’s warmth, letting her tongue twist and slide gently with the latters. The older Chinese girl moaned when she felt Amber’s hand slowly creep up her shirt and softly squeezed at her bra-covered breast, letting her palm move in slow circles against the soft mound. Pulling away when breathing became a problem, the blonde rested her forehead against the brunette’s and they stared contently into each other’s eyes.
“I love you, my darling angel”, breathed the younger girl as she leaned down to softly peck the latters lips.
“I love you too, my loving prince”, whispered the older girl in between exchanged kisses. They spent the rest of the night in each other’s embrace knowing that when the next day came, a new couple would be born into the world.

Victoria was snapped out of her daze when Amber turned and whispered, “Baby, are you ok?” Victoria smiled and pecked her girlfriend’s lips in reassurance before cuddling closer to the blonde. Slowly her consciousness began to dim as the comfort of the blondes hands gently running through her hair caused her to be lulled into a sleepy state. Feeling her eyes slip shut, Victoria slept peacefully against the younger girl’s chest. The lover’s slept peacefully in each other’s arms knowing that no matter what awaited them the next day, they would face it together in the comfort of each other’s love.
