Having now read all of the novels on the shortlist for this year's Arthur C. Clarke Award, I am glad to say that I finished on a high note. Interesting. I found the second-person pov grated more in Halting State, possibly because I'd got used to it ny the time I read Rule 34, and also because Rule 34 is a much better book.
