One of the few personal ideas I have about Shakespeare productions, is that if I were directing Henry VI part III, I would begin the "Ay, Edward will use women honourably" soliloquy by having Richard *notice the audience*.
We saw the wonderful Edmund Hall all male "Rose Rage" which combined several of the Plantagenet histories. The deaths were signified by chopping red cabbages in half. At one point, when Richard kills someone, he just sawed through his cabbage very very slowly and made it the most gloriously chilling thing.
