Maybe... I'm not sure just what you mean by "at this point".
We put the first moon mission together in just eight years - of course we did have a starting infrastructure in place. I'm old enough to remember "White Only" signs in many stores, but by the time I was in the sixth grade my school was integrated. I think maybe BIG projects always seem unrealistic at the start.
And all that money that goes into a space program? That's mostly (a)jobs and (b)research, both of which are good things.
Ah, well. Probably never happen. But it's good to see somebody at least talking about it.
How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm still living in a country that is 97% white so I don't really have any idea. (Actually, no, there's a not insignificant roma minority, but um... I don't know where I would put them race-wise, so I stuck them in "white".)
Well yeah, but this - you can't make happen in eight years. One-way trip would take almost an year.
Romney makes me nervous. Those guys that want to "run the government like a business" always seem to find out that it's *not* a business - if fact it's the opposite, since government sorta by definition takes on those projects that won't generate a profit.
Newt. My God, Newt. He's just got such a shaky history I'd really be kind of scared if he were to get elected, but I have a feeling he may be the Rep. candidate.
And Obama. Has he failed our hopes? I'm not so sure. A lot of people seemed to think that as soon as he got into office there would be big changes. Well, surprise! The president doesn't have as much power as people think, except maybe in military matters. Congress controls the money and that's pretty much that. Change takes time; I don't think his term has been disastrous and personally, I'm willing to give him another four years.

Yes, AFAIK, Roma are white racially, but if you live in Eastern Europe, ethnicity issues get a little complicated - looking from here, anyway.
Where/ what country do you live in, if one may ask?

I'm not sure there's anyone I'd vote for, just considering what they're talking about these days. Debates give me migraine.

Yeah, literally promising us the moon.
