Monogamy isn't the norm, a recent anthropological survey of over a thousand cultures shows that only 15% of them are 'monogamous' and these civilians have divorce rates like in north america 50% or higher, while most people have MULTIPLE sex partners throughout their life.
Most societies are not monogamous, and even the ones that are only are on THE FACE, while more then half the population doesn't IN THE OPEN.
You can only imagine how many wives/girlfriends cheat around where it doesn't break up relationships.
Oh and evolutioanry psychology will tell you exactly that.
