Yesterday, Roman went for his first boat ride out in the Gulf. He slept through most of it, despite the rough and choppy waves. I've never been pushed into a pool before, actually .... so, that was a 37 year streak down the drain.

I've only been in Florida for 2 years, so I think it's obvious why the experience is still "neat" to me. But what's amazing is that Monica has lived here her entire life, and she still has the same reaction. I guess it never really gets old.

Oh, and that is really neat to see the dolphins up close in the wild like that. I never had that luck. but I have been close to manatees and sea turtles before.

We have a canal in our backyard that feeds directly to the Gulf of Mexico, and once we all saw a dolphin swimming out there. We've seen a stingray back there, as well. I'm assuming a manatee will make its way up here at some point.
