Last weekend of "vacation"

Yesterday, Roman went for his first boat ride out in the Gulf. He slept through most of it, despite the rough and choppy waves. We went out to the island where our wedding will take place in September, scoping out the best possible place to bring 60 people, including Monica in her dress. We're having the ceremony a little before sunset, with the ( Read more... )

Fun pictures! And that's a great story about the dolphins. :)

My daughter is so jealous. We've lived here 2 years, and she's YET to see dolphins in the wild. The rest of us have seen them several times. lol

Adorable pics! I love the last one in the series of your surprise pool dip...you just look *thrilled*, lol.

So jealous you got so close to dolphins! That's definitely a dream of mine.

Your wedding island looks so cute! Can't wait to see pictures! How many weeks are left? You said September, right?

September 10th, to be precise.

Yeah, I thought the "reaction pic" made the sequence. lol

I've never been pushed into a pool before, actually .... so, that was a 37 year streak down the drain.

I remember the first time I saw belugas in the wild, it was so surreal. I would love to swim with dolphins someday, that's on my bucket list for sure.
Those wedding photos sound like they're going to be amazing, I really cannot wait to see those. It sounds like you guys are going to have a lovely ceremony! :) congrats

The ceremony should be pretty, assuming it doesn't rain or there's no tropical storm hitting or anything ridiculous like that.

And assuming Monica makes it across the beach from the boats in her dress without face planting in the sand.

Sounds lovely! The dolphins must have been so neat to observe. I've never seen them in the wild more than a distant glimpse.

It's pretty cool to see them that close. A few months ago, Monica and I were walking the beach and there was an entire pod just offshore. We counted at least 7 at that time, but they weren't this close.

I've only been in Florida for 2 years, so I think it's obvious why the experience is still "neat" to me. But what's amazing is that Monica has lived here her entire life, and she still has the same reaction. I guess it never really gets old.

What a great place to get married. I bet the ceremony and pics will just be gorgeous.

Oh, and that is really neat to see the dolphins up close in the wild like that. I never had that luck. but I have been close to manatees and sea turtles before.

And I'VE never seen a manatee, even though supposedly they are ALL over the waters here.

We have a canal in our backyard that feeds directly to the Gulf of Mexico, and once we all saw a dolphin swimming out there. We've seen a stingray back there, as well. I'm assuming a manatee will make its way up here at some point.
