So, for the past month, I've gotten into lolita fashion. I always liked frilly, poofy dresses before, but now I really, REALLY like frilly, poofy dresses. A whole lot ( Read more... )

Hahahaha. Welcome to the Lolita world :P
I feel the same about socks and blouses haha. Wouldn't get brand ones unless it came in a Lucky Pack I bought or something :P. Taobao/Offbrand/Bodyline is the way to go xD. But I'm also cheap haha. Shouldn't really be in an expensive fashion when I like to save money xD.

Height-wise, I think you're fine. :P I'm 5"3. Though I don't have any brand pieces, the stuff I get is usually around knee-length anyways. And that's kind of considered average anyways :P. I think if you were taller, you'd be worried about the dresses being too short x.x;. I'm A-cup too, but my ribcage is much larger, so I dunno about that x.x; Maybe ask egl about that or search egl entries ^^;.

I LOVE ANIMAL BAGS... just not that one. The eyes look like they're going to posess me or something -.-;

SMH at animal bags! From the few reviews I saw from people who have bought these deer bags and bunny bags and whatever, the actual bag space is so tiny. So I'm not sure what the point is. It'd be cheaper just to go to a Toys R Us and buy a stuffed animal if it's the effect of carrying around a plush you're after, and not the actual bag space. (I don't mean you as in YOU PERSONALLY, like I'm criticizing or calling you out or anything!) Eh, I prefer an actual bag in the shape of a heart or in a traditional bag shape than a unicorn. +__+ But that's just me and my tastes ( ... )

I think I mentioned this before, but I really like reading your entries with your viewpoints on random, non serious, issues :). They are lighthearted and fun.

Dresses usually look terrible on me and I don't like wearing them, any type, (almost as much as you dislike wearing makeup) and I am fairly certain I'd look ridiculous in loli, haha, just imaging it XD;;;. Although, I think they are cute on other people ^_^. I will wear skirts on occasion...with biker shorts underneath.

Take care,

I like talking about random, non-serious issues best of all. Not that I am aloof or unconcerned with current events and world news, it's just that I'm more suited to talk extensively about lighthearted and simple things. Like bags in the shape of animals or animal heads.

I didn't wear dresses when I was younger because I thought everybody at school would laugh. Because I didn't have any friends and wasn't really social, everyone saw me as kind of robotic, so the moment I expressed any kind of humanness or social behavior, I'd get stared at and talked about. Plus, I thought my mother would laugh at me too (I don't know why I thought that, but I did), so I was a closet dress admirer. I only wore dresses when I felt I wasn't going to be judged.

You would be amazed what a corset can do. It held my dress up just fine. Except that I lost weight from when it was tailored to my wedding day, so it was not as fine. :p

Haha, I was actually bidding on the Yahoo Japan auctions for that corset strapless dress. Since, yeah, if it really didn't fit, I could always sell it. It was brand new, still in the plastic, the girl didn't even try it on AND was throwing in free shipping AND was including some extremely girly pastel horse/unicorn pillow she apparently got with her purchase from the brand that makes the dress. AND she was underselling it by about $100. I was outbidded by like $5, lol... Maybe it was for the best, since I really ought to keep that money handy for Los Angeles in 3 weeks.

I'm just weary of strapless dresses in general, since last time I wore a strapless dress for my high school graduation, it was a disaster.

You should get them second hand!! Back in my lolita phase, I only brought branded items if it was second handed but in mint condition (that usually cuts it down by half the price). I stalked egl_comm_sales everyday, in addition to these sites that ship overseas:

Tokyo Rebel has an online store, I don't know how updated it is according to the stock they have at their actual shop, but you can check it out. If you just want to look at how other overseas lolita dress, you can follow daily_lolitaI found Angelic Pretty dresses to be really heavy, I had a poofy pink JSK that had a built-in petticoat and it was really bulky to wear. Baby the Stars Shine Bright is better, in my opinion. Although I was more of a classic lolita, you seem to like sweet lolita :) The only dress I completely splurged on is a Mary Magdalene dress that they no longer make, so I had to make a bid off Yahoo ( ... )
