Title: 049. "What's the difference?"
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Hankyung/Hankyung (ShiHanChul, OT4)
Archive: 21/100
Notes: Hankyung is reborn in two different countries. If you get confused, don't worry. You're supposed to be confused.
You are reborn as two people, in two different countries. Hankyung is Korean and Hangeng is Chinese but when you meet you swear that maybe you could be part of both.
You've always been good boys, doing what your parents tell you and what others tell you and sometimes what others don't tell you. But despite that, you still end up what you are now.
You, Hangeng, meet Shiwon first. He's charming and beautiful and somehow convinces you to go to Korea. You meet Heechul through Shiwon, and through Heechul you meet you. It's like seeing your face in the mirror except that Hankyung is blond and looks like a rocker. But you find out that you both have similar interests and become instant friends. Heechul calls out half your name and both of you turn. Shiwon laughs and tells Heechul to stop being cruel and Heechul answers with a "What's the difference?" because Heechul seems to think that you're one and the same. But that can't be right, because you are two and could never be one but then Shiwon points out how similar you are and you can't help but wonder if maybe Heechul's right.
When you're with them, it's like being with God and the Devil at the same time. Shiwon is an angel that melts you with his smile and bright, untainted light. Heechul is a demon and draws you in with a suggestive smirk and seductive darkness. You wonder how you fit into the equation and you think you're maybe something like purgatory, but after a while it doesn't matter.
How they became friends is a mystery to you. Shiwon believes in a higher power and Heechul believes in himself, which makes for some interesting arguments about what a higher power is--or who it is, since Heechul's convinced that it's himself--and you end up the mediator to the fights.
When you tell them that you're dating you, Heechul raises an eyebrow and Shiwon clamps a hand over his mouth before Heechul could ask about the sex. You don't want to tell Heechul that you haven't had sex yet and that you're actually quite nervous about it. Having sex with someone who looks like you could be unnerving. Especially in front of a mirror, as Heechul points when Shiwon leaves the three of you alone. You start double dating after a while, when Shiwon and Heechul finally get together after a lot of counciling and a broken nose (Heechul wouldn't talk to you for a week after that one. Shiwon smooths it over with the offer of a nose job to correct it. To which Heechul agrees, since Shiwon is 'loaded' and one did not pass up such an offer.)
You go quadruple dating one day with friends of Heechul's. Two of them are twins and the other two could pass for twins, much like you and you. You learn that their names are Youngwoon, Kangin, Eeteuk, and Jungsu and for a moment you're sure that all of you have met before, just not in twos or fours or sixes or eights. You think thirteen and with a glance at Shiwon you think of two more. How eight became thirteen and how thirteen added two, you're not sure and you think you're going crazy until Heechul snaps you out of a daydream of dancing and singing and a gay looking boyband called Super something to tell both of you to get the drinks.
You go to the counter and you order what you can bring back with four hands. Five of the six you left behind are gone and only Shiwon remains with a wide smile and a nod of his head in the direction of the missing persons. It's Heechul in the middle of Kangin and Eeteuk. Jungsu and Youngwoon are all but having sex with each other right there on the dance floor and you think back a bit and remember that it was Kangin and Jungsu that were a couple and Eeteuk and Youngwoon who were dating.
You wonder if maybe it's because you got their names wrong, but remember that they're all wearing different clothing and it's easy to tell Kangin and Youngwoon apart from the absence of hair on one and you remember that Eeteuk was wearing earrings with little angel wings on them.
You ask Shiwon about it and he lets you in on a secret. They were dating each other. All of them, minus Heechul of course. It confuses you how four people can be dating each other and you ask Shiwon to clarify. But Heechul is at your side and pulling you into the crowd and onto the dance floor and you catch Shiwon's arm, more for the sake of you being with Heechul together because really, it'd be foolish to trust the devil without god on your side. Eeteuk and Jungsu and Youngwoon and Kangin are in their own world in their own little corner of the dance floor and you watch with fascination as four become one and it's only when you feel bodies against your own that you remember that you're not here alone.
Shiwon pulls the Korean part of you closer than should be necessary with flesh heated by alcohol and the fire of dance. Heechul has his hands all over your Chinese self and you wonder how this little arrangement became okay. Because you are a loyal person, not at all a player or promiscuous like Heechul is known to be. But with the way that Heechul and Shiwon are dancing and fondling, you're not sure if you can keep such a righteousness stance for very long.
You forget for the rest of the night that you were actually out with four other people when the other people become scarce and Heechul informs you the next day that they were having so much fun that they had to relocate to somewhere a bit more private. For now you're content with Heechul in your arms and Shiwon at your back and you against your side. It feels as strange as it feels good, but you don't let the weirdness of the situation ruin the moment. The four of you belong together; Heaven, Hell, and the earth and sky between them.
I am surprised that this particular one came out as long as it did. Maybe because I'm bias to my OT3/4? IDEK. I'll have one more installment to wrap it all up (also because I've run out of prompts to do this kind of thing with...)
