Yeah, Paul Auster and Salman Rushdie signed that too. Couldn't believe it. How anyone can support a child rapist, I don't know.

At least there some celebrities who aren't supporting him, Chris Rock, Kevin Smith, Bill Maher, Kirstie Alley to name a few. Still it is pretty horrifying to see how many signed that petition. I think they should be required to read his victim's deposition!

It is a lack of morality! The world is always going down this world. And omg! When people tolerate, condone this shit, people like Polanski get away with it. And trust me, if he manages to get off, that pandora's box will combust.

AH! A glimmer of hope! I was so overwhelmed by all my favourites on that stupid list, I sincerely forgot about Fincher. I feel relieved now. Not all the men in the world are assholes.

It's completely disheartening. I'm losing all faith in the film industry. Apparently if you can make really good films it doesn't matter if you slept with a 13 year old and admitted to it. It's part of the reason I don't even care about the Oscars anymore. After they gave him the award for The Pianist a few years back (which I never saw because I knew what kind of man he was) I wanted nothing more to do with it and I haven't watched since. He's a child rapist and a fugitive and I hope he rots in jail for the rest of his life. Anyone who thinks otherwise is insane and I'd like to be able to ask them if it means they condone child rape as well. Good riddance.

I was re-reading that petition and I saw Wong Kar Wai's name and I literally wanted to cry. I just. Wow. The disappointment is incredible. And it's not like these people owe me anything but... I've lost all respect for them. Martin Scorsese was on there and so was Penelope Cruz along with the ones you've listed and. Yeah. I am really really tempted to write them each a letter and ask if they condone child rape so long as the rapist is in the film industry. I really do.
