Ah~, my cold is finally starting to go away~ I'm so happyXDDD
On Thursday night it was just the worst, I was out all morning for class then when right to work, and by the end of the day I never wanted to get up again;P On Friday morning I didn't feel much better but I had to drag myself to class...and I did pass my math test, so I'm very happy:) But I called in sick for work cause I didn't want to go through that again^^ So, for the first time in over a month, I got a 2-day weekend:D Thank goodnes it's over, there's a horrible bug at my work that was felling people for a week and I have midterms next week so I was worried I'd be still fighting it off...*phew*
And Arashi's new PV!!<3<3 It's so gorgeous...X3 Even better than I imagined, I lvoe the wind machineXD I just had to take some screencaps...X3
I managed to restrict myself to only a few, but it took forever to get them right;) And, because I've been infected lately with the H gene (thanks to
winkychan and
yuckie_chanXDDD) every time I looked at these caps my mind kept wanting to create a little story...;P Beware, nosebleed may ensue (depending on the fidelity of your imagination;):
Once upon a time there was a boy named Jun, handsome, colorful, beautifully-lit...but very very lonely>_<
The world seemed beige and empty to him, and he wandered alone in this milieu...until one day he met a girl named (*insert your name here*)X3 Just one look, a few words exchanged, and he fell deeply, dangerously, stomach-baringly in love<3
Before long there was no separating them and Jun was no longer lonely, in fact, he couldn't any (more sultrily) happier...;)
Kyaa~<3 Those eyes and that smile, they've got a hold on meX3 But wait, there's one more screencap...but now that I've gone this far, I'll just let your imaginations take over for the last oneXDD *evil grin*
<3<3<3
Anyways, today I have the translation of the Shukudai-kun from 07.10.29 with Maki and the unusual exercise methods;P
Ogura: Arashi's homework begins~!
Sho: So, today's guest has come out, please take a look. 'Beautiful woman army corps'.
Ogura: That's great ne.
Sho: Representative of Osaka.
Aiba: Beautiful woman army corps??
Sho: Army corps!
Jun: Army corps?
Ogura: Representative of Osaka.
Sho: Representative! Winner of the grand prize for most beautiful legs.
Ogura: What kind of army corps is the 'beautiful woman army corps'? (writign)
Sho: Well, like 'Takeshi's army'. (writing; from an old comedy show)
Ogura: Takeshi's-?;P
Nino: Takeshi's army huh, Takeshi's army;P
Aiba: Hey, but it keeps saying beautiful, beautiful so let's get our tension up.
Ogura: So, let's open it!
Sho: Let's open it. Today's guest is this person here, go ahead!
[Announcer: Tonight is a paper-rock-scissors battle to try Tamaru-san's rare and delicious cuisine. Furthermore, the new training wave,
a large gathering of the recent exercises that are the talk of the town. What the heck, so in the end it's back to this avenue? Arashi's
homework begins!]
Sho: Let's move along to the first homework, Ogura-san, if you please.
Ogura: Yes. Homework from the guest for the audience: investigate and submit delicious cuisine made using the ingredients available
in the latter half of autumn.
Jun: Autumn is a good time for food and drink ne?
Maki: It's things like persimmons, Japanese chestnuts. Also matsutake (mushrooms), lately I've been having matsutake rice at home.
(writing)
Ogura: What kind of matsutake rice, you make it yourself?
Maki: I did, cause I thought it was fitting. There's lots of different kinds of fish ne? (writing)
Sho: Like pike and such.
Maki: That's right, that's right.
[Announcer: Tonight, autumn's seasonal ingredients and unknown things make surprising combinations. The unexpected groupings are
maximum tasty!]
Jun: First is a super luxurious combination. Here it is, tada!
Ogura: Ah, it's food steamed in clay teapots is it. (writing)
Jun: This is matsutak steamed in clay teapots, but there's tiger globefish in it.
Sho: Ehhh~.
Jun: This is tiger globefish and matsutake steamed in clay teapots. It's the super luxurious combination of the titled taste of Autumn,
matsutake, and the high class food tiger globefish!
Sho: Yay~!
Ohno: Them's the taste of autumn ne. (writing)
Sho: Why are you talking with a Kansai accent, you?
Ogura: Go ahead.
Maki: Thanks for the food. Oh, it smells good!
Ogura: Just matsutake by itself is luxurious huh, so putting in toger globefish...
Maki: Just from drinking it I get the feeling I've been to Hawaii for a week. (writing)
[writing: Southern country flavour?]
Jun: That's extremely unexpected.
Aiba: Though looking at this I can't imagine Hawaii at all... (writing)
Jun: Because they don't have tiger globefish ne;P
Aiba: That's right.
Sho: It'll definitely be tasty.
Maki: That's right.
Jun: It'll have an amazing flavor.
Sho: This combination will probably be the most powerful kind.
Aiba: Amazing ne.
Maki: Uwa~, dfjbnefobneob. (writing)
Jun: Oh, what did you say??
Maki: Dewicious!
Jun: She said it's dewicious, dewicious;p
Sho: Well, since it's probably lonely eating by yourself, shall we have some too? (writing)
Aiba: Ne, let's have some.
Jun: Unfortunately ne, there's only 3 more. (writing)
Aiba: Ready, and- Ogu-san.
Aiba/Sho: Ready, and-
Aiba: Ogu-san!
Ogura: I'm fine, I'm fine.
[writing: Adult composure]
Aiba: Hey, what's with this adult-like act, please follow along Ogura-san.
Ogura: Is that so. (writing)
All: Ready, and- rock-paper-scissors! Ready, and- rock-paper-scissors!
Aiba: I did it~!
Jun: Aiba's got one?;P
Nino/Ohno/Jun: Ready, and- rock-paper-scissors! It's a draw! It's a draw! It's a draw!
Nino: Yeah!
Aiba: Yay!
Jun/Ohno: Ready, and- rock-paper-scissors! It's a draw!
Nino: Let's eat it!
Aiba: Let's eat it;P This is something you really don't get to eat. Really.
Sho: I wanted to eat it~.
Aiba: It ain't in no family restaurants. (writing) This ain't in the family restaurants.
Nino: Of course it's not in family restaurants.
Ogura: They don't have clay teapot steamed foods there ne.
Maki: I've never heard of it.
Nino: So, Aiba-san...
Aiba: Okay. Bring it here...
[writing: Toasting with broth?]
Nino: Thanks for the hard work!
Jun: That kind of makes me mad;P
Aiba: Thankd for the hard work!
Nino: Thanks for the hard work.
Maki: Thank you very much for all your hard work, thanks for the food.
Sho: This isn't something you make a toast with. (writing)
Aiba: uwa~...all of it, all of the flavor comes at you ne. (writing) It all came ne.
Nino: It all did huh.
Jun: We don't know what that means...
Aiba: Matsutake, globefish, chives... (writing)
Sho: Chives??
[writing: Chives??]
Nino: You ate chives earlier;P You ate them earlier.
Aiba: Matsutake-chan, oh matsutake.
Nino: This is amazing huh.
Aiba: Ah, I thought the flavor had come out in the broth, but there's still an incredible amount of flavor left in the matsutake.
Maki: That's right, it's quite properly there, delicious.
Aiba: Mm, the gingko nuts are also awesomely tasty huh. (wriitng)
Nino: tasty huh. They're tasty.
Aiba: Although gingko nuts give you the impression they stink it doesn't stink at all. (writing)
[writing: He's one who let's out things like that ne]
Nino: You cna keep that to yourself;P
Ogura: That's when you're picking them right.
Aiba: Yes.
Jun: The next is also aan autumn ingredient.
Aiba: Yes.
Ogura: What is this?
Jun: This is the novel combination of pike and fruit.
All: Fruit??
Aiba: Ehh??
Jun: Yes. Here we go.
Ogura: Eh, chestnuts? (writing)
Aiba: What is this??
Ogura: It's mandarin oranges!
Jun: Pike and orange rice.
Ogura: Eh, is this pike that's been grilled and then boiled together with it afterwards?
Jun: Grilled pike boiled with- boiled with rice, a dish where when it's been boiled you add an orange and further steam it.
Ogura: I think this'll be delicious.
Nino: Ah, but it's kind of hard to imagine ne.
Aiba: It's difficult ne.
Ogura: I think this'll be delicious.
Sho: Really?
Maki: How will rice be with orange in it ne...? (writing)
Ogura: I think it'll go together very well you know.
Maki: It will?
Aiba: This is pretty much something I would come up with ne. (writing)
[writing: Aiba cuisine?]
Aiba: Relatively.
Jun: No no, if it was your creation it would be a problem I'm sure. It would be a problem for the audience;P
Maki: The flavor of the orange really comes out.
Ogura: Ah, it does?
Maki: It really does, but it goes well with it.
Aiba: It does?
Maki: Ehh, so rice and orange go together...
Sho: it doesn't compete with the pike?
Maki: Um ne, they join hands well. (writing)
Sho: Oh, they get along fairly well.
Maki: This kind of thing ne...
Ogura: What are you counting? This guy's counting them, but it seems like we're short;P
Sho: We're short.
[writing: There's only enough for 5 people.]
Nino: Paper-rock-scissors.
Aiba: Paper-rock-scissors- paper-rock-scissors again! Only one person will lose.
Nino: It's rough that it's just one person huh.
Ogura: One person?
All: Ready, and- rock-paper-scissors!
[writing: Ogura is the lone loser]
Jun: Ogu-san, your timing is terrible!
Aiba: Ogu-san, you're weak at rock-paper-scissors today ne;P
Nino: Like, 'what should I put out~?'
Ogura: It's pain in the ass so I've only been doing rock since a while ago;P (writing) I guess I'm kind of envious.
Maki: Of course you'd want to try eating it ne.
Ogura: Yeah, I kind of want to try eating it ne.
Aiba: It'sh chrue.
Sho: Ah, tasty.
Ogura: Delicious?
Nino: Tasty.
Aiba: The orange is completely there, but it doesn't bother you at all ne.
Jun: The oiliness and fattiness of the pike, in a good sense, really goes well with the acidity of the orange! (writing)
Ogura: Are you talking to me?
Maki: Who thought this up ne? Like, 'let's put pike and orange together'. (writing)
Sho: The chef of course. (writing)
Maki: The chef-?
[writing: Cool ne?]
Jun: Well then, now for a different taste. Next is dessert. This as well ne, is a fairly amazing combination. (writing) It's a
combination of raw cream and an autumn ingredient.
Aiba: I see.
Ogura: Chestnuts? (wtiting)
Sho: What is this?
Aiba: What is this?
Ogura: It's chestnuts, chestnuts.
Jun: You're wrong.
Ogura: Chestnuts right? What is it?
Jun: It's eggplant. (writing)
Maki: Eh? This is eggplant?
Jun: The eggplant variety tart.
Aiba: I see.
Jun: The eggplant here is - it's this part here - fried in a caramel flavor ne.
Aiba: I wonder if eggplant would go with it...
Jun: Apparently the texture of eggplant is close to that of an apple, right now they're doing a seasonal limited sale, it's a popular
item where they seel 30~40 a day.
Sho: Amazing.
Aiba: Amazing, amazing.
Jun: Go ahead.
Maki: It's true, it's eggplant. When you look at it like this. Thanks for the food~.
Aiba: How is it?
Maki: mm, why is this? It's delicious. (writing)
Aiba/Jun: 'Why is this?';P
Aiba: 'Why is this? It's delicious';P
Nino: It's not the eggplant that you were thinking of.
Maki: I was kind of thinking that it definitely wouldn't work when I saw it.
Aiba: Is it sweet? The eggplant too? (writing)
Maki: it's sweet, but it's not too sweet.
Jun: It's a light sweetness?
Maki: That's right, so ne, it's probably easy to eat for people like grandmas and grandpas. (writing)
Jun: Grandma and grandpas?
Maki: Although it's in limited supply.
Jun: There's just one. (writing)
[writing: One remaining]
Aiba: Ahh~, it'll be heated today ne. This be heated ne.
Jun: One person?
Sho/Nino: Let's do two people. (writing)
Sho: Cause we've been looking forward to it.
Aiba: Let's divide it amicably.
Jun: Ready, and-
All: First throw, rock-paper-scissors! It's a draw!
Aiba: Ahh, I lost again. Ogura-san, you're not even trying;P
Nino/Jun/Sho: Ready, and- first throw, rock-paper-scissors!
Jun/Sho: Rock-paper-scissors! It's a draw!
Jun: Alright!
Nino: I'm relieved that it's Jun-kun. (writing)
Sho: Hey!
[writing: Sakurai sucks at commentary?]
Jun: Okay...
Sho: That's messed up...you...
Jun: Ready?
Nino: Shall we eat? Thanks for the food.
Jun: This is kind of hard...how is it?
Aiba: How is it?
Nino: Super delicious. (writing)
Ogura: With just that he's no different from Riidaa is he?;P (writing)
Nino: It goes well. It goes well for the most part, super delicious.
Jun: Well...I ne...I would believe you if you told me this was apple. (writing)
Sho: Ah, is that so?
Jun: If you hadn't told me it was eggplant I don't think I would have realized.
Maki: Would would have thought this up ne? (wriitng) This kind of combination-
[writing: Again with that question!]
Jun: Who indeed ne?;)
Sho: The chef of course. (writing)
[writing: She's the guest!]
Nino: Be nicer!
Jun: She's the guest, the guest.
Sho: Of course it's the chef, no matter how you look at it. (writing) Well then, Ogura-san, the next homework if you please.
Ogura: Yes. Tamaru Maki-san's image homework: what did you do last night?
Sho: What did you actually do last night?
Maki: Last night ne...um, there was something that I had left ihn Ginza so I drove myself there to pick it up, then on the way home I
aimlessly drove around the Tokyo Tower area 5-6 times, then after that I went to get kebabs and then went home. (writing)
Sho: Why exactly were you driving around the Tokyo Tower 5-6 times? (writing)
Maki: I kind of really like the view from inside the car, a lot.
Aiba: Do you go wherever by yourself a fair bit? (writing)
Maki: I do quite a bit, um...I'll make a reservation at a restaurant that has a nice view...
Jun: By yourself??
Maki: I go to eat dinner by myself ne. (writing)
Aiba: Tamaru-san, you don't have any friends? (writing)
Maki: I have...I have friends, but there are days when it's just impossible to make our schedules match up right?
Jun: Ohh, yes.
Maki: So I don't want to make that day go to waste so I'll go to places like Disneyland by myself ne. (writing)
Jun/Aiba: Eh, Disneyland??
[writing: Disney by yourself?!]
Ogura: I also like Disneyland so I often go there...but normally you don't go by yourself.
Maki: Well ne, I hadn't planned on going by myself, but the girl who said she wanted to go couldn't make it, and I thought it was a
waste since I'd made sure to keep that day open, there are these crunchy type candies right? I went there thinking that I'd
just buy some of those, but when I got there I couldn't stop myself anymore. So I go by myself, but the wanted- haunted mansion?
(writing)
Ogura: Haunted mansion.
Maki: When I rode that by myself I was extremely worn out. But if you just get through that then you can ride anything. (writing)
[writing: An easy victory!]
Sho: So that's it!
Jun: That's amazing~;P
Nino: So that's the amazing part ne.
Maki: That's right ne.
Ogura: Do you also go drinking by yourself? (writing)
Maki: I'm also completely okay going drinking by myself, I go to bars and such too. But quite often...let's see, in Oscar I get along extremely
well with Ishikawa Asami-chan. Um, she's become buys and unable to go drinking since her child was born, but people like Yoshikawa
Hinano-chan ne, also Yazawa Shin-chan, we kind of have a girl's night out ne. (writing)
Jun: Amazing huh~.
Maki: Everyone's got an incredibly high tolerance (to alcohol). (writing) I had thought that I had a high tolerance, but Hinano-chan
and Ishikawa Asami have far surpassed me. (writing)
Ogura: That high of a tolerance? You kind of have the feeling of wanting to go drinking with those kind of people from Oscar don't
you? (writing; Oscar is their agency name)
Nino: Um, I want to drink with the beautiful woman army corps.
Ogura: You wnat to drink with the beautiful woman army corps right? But with them having that high of a tolerance there's something
tough for you. (writing)
Maki: Ah, but I go with men too, like Anjasshu's Kojima-kun. Also, one more Kojima, the Kojima who says 'that has nothing to do with it!'...
(writing)
Jun: Are they friends of yours?
Maki: We've gone drinking, those two are also extremists, they weren't able to move until noon the next day. (writing)
Sho: We actually have a message from those drinking buddies. (writing)
Maki: What? Which-
Sho: Please watch the VTR, go ahead.
Terumoto: Hi there, I'm Gotou Terumoto. Well, I've had Tamaru Maki-san let me go drinking with her ne. Um, since Tamaru-san is a
female...well, it's not like she's stingy, but I'd like her to drink a little more freely. At the very beginning she'll order wine,
then when we say what fo you want to eat? can you you please stop saying things like rice with egg? Because you're a female
I thought it would be something fancy, but suddenly she says rice with egg, she has a different way of drinking ne~. By all
means, please invite me out drinking again! (writing)
Maki: What a surprise! (writing)
Ohno: Is rice with egg on the menu? (writing)
Ogura: Would it be on the menu ne?
Maki: It is.
Sho: This person here loves rice with egg. (writing)
Maki: Ah, is that so?
Ohno: Do you put chives in? (writing)
Maki: I put in chives too, anything is pretty much-
Ohno: Are they green chives? (writing)
Maki: Green chives, baby chives, that kind of thing ne.
Ohno: Isn't that super tasty?
Maki: it's delicious ne.
Sho: I didn't think that you'd get this worked up over rice with egg. (writing) So, for the next image, Ohno-kun.
Ohno: Yes. This is a submission from Tokyo's Bean Baron. Last night Tamaru-san went from one gym and esthetics salon to the next all night.
Aiba: Well, yuo do have the image of doing that kind of thing ne.
Sho: Have you been to them lately?
Maki: Well ne, I do go to the gym once in a while, other than that, for esthetics salons, I really like being touched by people so
I pick maintenance days, or if there's something new then I'll go in and try it. (writing)
[Announcer: For the sake of Tamaru-san we gathered up all the latest exercise methods that are making a buzz right now.]
Sho: Well then, let's start by taking a look at the first one. This is it. Tada. Madonna's favorite.
Nino/Aiba: Amazing.
Maki: That alone interests me. (writing) Amazing.
Sho: Madonna's favorite is this one here. Power plate.
Aiba: What is that?
[Announcer: The plate at your feet does 25-50 vibrations per second, just by being on it it activates muscle contractions, it's a fairly
proactive fitness machine. Just riding it for 10 minutes can give you the benefit of an hour-long workout. Is that really true? This
is amazing.]
Ogura: So that means that just by riding it you'll get a body like Madonna's? (writing)
Rie: You will, yes.
Maki: Amazing, I want to try riding it, is that okay? (writing)
[writing: Ready and willing!]
Nino: You really do want to ride it huh!
Ogura: Ahh, it seems hard. If this thing vibrates then it seems rough.
Jun: Is it working?
Rie: It is.
Maki: This is a situation that I have no idea how to express. (writing)
Aiba: Ehh, what? What is it?
Maki: Like going to the bathroom on the shinkansen? (writing)
[writing: An amazing example ne]
Sho: Please stop;P
Jun: Ehh?? Why?
Nino: Hey, take that back, take it back.
Aiba: You can't see the vibrations at all ne, from your appearance. (writing)
Rie: That's right. How about- how about this?
Sho: Oh, you're vibrating that much??
Rie: That's right.
Ohno: That plastic bottle's funny huh. (writing)
Rie: That's right ne.
Sho: So like this-
Rie: Right now she's worked her muscles 900 times. (writing)
Maki: Ama-
Rie: It's the condition of having done 900 squats ne. (writing)
Sho: Eh, that many?
Ogura: It doesn't burden the body that much?
Rie: It doesn't burden the body. You don't move your joints that much so it's acutally used in rehabilitation ne.
Maki: Amazing.
[Announcer: Next, ab muscle shape up. With your legs in the air the vibrations act like sit-ups, and apaprently will tighten your
abdominal muscles. We're going to have Aiba try it on the highest oscillation]
Aiba: Uwa, it hurts! Ow ow ow ow! Ow ow ow! Ow ow ow! Ow ow! Turn it off! (writing) Ow ow ow! Ow ow ow!
Jun: It's a lot of trouble, but convey the experience.
Aiba: Oh no, oh no!
Jun: Convey the experience.
Aiba: It feels like I'm going to fart soon. (writing)
Jun: Quit that;P
Rie: I'd like him to move a little slower...
Aiba: Ow ow ow! It really does hurt! Really!
Jun: Why, why?
Aiba: Just- oh...it stopped. it feels like something's going to come out. (writing) While you're on there it feels like something's
going to come out, but when it's over it stops.
Nino: Seriously?
Sho: So, next is this one. You can become a small-faced beauty? That's right. Lifting face yoga.
Nino: What is that?
[Announcer: Lifting face yoga, where you do face exercises and yoga at the same time. It works your whole body and has a proactive
effect on your facial muscles. it's completely good for you, and apparently it will help you become a small-faced beauty as well.
So, let's all do it together!]
Fumiko: This is the very first pose, it's a pose called the 'chair pose grimace';) So, if you were to ask what this is, the
chair pose tightly sculpts your lower body. Yes, your thighs, around your thighs ne, your butt. And the grimace pose instantly
gets the toxins out of your face and body. This is really good for after drinking. (writing) So, I'm just going to do it first
ne. This is the chair pose ne. Get into a siting position. Then like this you make a grimace...
[writing: Teacher!]
Sho: Teacher!
Aiba: is it really that teacher?
Sho: teacher!
Nino: Let's stop taping. (writing) Just stop for a second.
Sho: Teacher!
Fumiko: Ugly?
Aiba: That, really?
Fumiko: It's true. If you do this then you can go out for yor second day. (of drinking)
Aiba: I understand the pose, but does the grimace really work? (writing)
Jun: We don't get the grimace.
Maki: What's the reason behind your eyes being so high up? (writing)
Fumiko: By putting your eyes up and your tonuge down then your facial muscles are being pulled from both ends ne.
Jun: Ah, I see.
Maki: So it gets pulled by those places?
Fumiko: The main point is to vocalize it. (writing) This ne. Alright, ;ets do it together. So first, put your arms parallel, then like
that slowly lower your lower body until your sitting on air. Don't stop your breathing! Yes, so now look upwards, with your
eyes straight up, then breath from your stomach, then stick out your tongue and vocalize. Stick out your tongue, stick out
your tongues! Longer, longer, longer! Riidaa, logner, longer, yes!
Maki: This makes you feel like you;'re being incredibly humiliated ne. (writing)
Fumiko: The main point is to not be embarrassed. (writing)
Maki: How do you not get embarrassed doing this?
Jun: This is embarrassing!
FumikO: Yeah, that's why you don't do it in front of people. (writing)
[writing: This is a national network!]
Nino: We're on tv right now!
Fumiko: Is that so?
Sho: Shall we go to the next pose? (writing)
Fumiko: Yes, then, the next pose ne.
Nino: What's the title please?
Fumiko: Munch's 'The Scream' in the cow pose. That's what it's called ne~;P
Sho: What is that??
Fumiko: Yes, I'll show you a demonstration ne. The cow pose sculpts up these parts of your body ne. So it makes a very curvy body.
Munch's scream works on your whole face, it's a pose thatt gets out wrinkles and swelling. First your body ne, in one straight
line. And, link fingers behind you. Then you take a deep breath...
[writing: teacher!]
Sho: Teacher...;P
Nino: Teacher...
Sho: Teacher...
Nino: You're appearing on tv teacher! (writing)
Ohno: Quit it!
Nino: Quit it teacher!
Fumiko: Yes. It feels good. Let's try it.
Aiba: Yes, let's try it. We're doing it everyone, let's do it.
Fumiko: Yes, we're doing it~. First let's put the right leg forward, right leg forward. Yes, the left leg goes behind. Yes, open your
hips. Then bring your hands back behind and you a grip them tightly. So this part here is being sculpted. Yes. Right here ne.
Yes, so like that take a breath through your nose...then bend your front leg, bend it, bend it, beind it, yes. Then at this
point you look upwards.
Aiba: Again... (writing)
Fumiko: Yes, you look upwards. Yes, now open your mouth into an 'O' shape.Yes, more more, put some effort into it! Put some effort into
it! Matsumoto-kun is good ne, he's good ne. Yes. Ninomiya-san! (writing) Put your hands up, don't look at people, look
upwards, stretch out your nose more and more. Ah, Riidaa's doing incredibly well, yes. Yes, Sakurai-san's that's good ne. Yes,
so that's it. How was it? (writing)
Sho: It was awesome. (writing) So, next is this one. Super high tension.
Jun: Amazing ne, you're still going!
Sho: We'r still going!
Jun: Our tension's already really high!
[writing: You can still get higher!]
Maki: I started getting nervous about what's under here, is this okay?
Sho: it'll make you even higher than this one.
Maki: It'll make us higher ne?
Sho: It's okay. Laughing power exercises.
Aiba: This smells fishy huh~.;P (writing)
Nino: It smells fishy~!
Aiba: This is suspicious.
Jun: What is this?
Sho: This is an exercise designed to turn stress into joy and give you the power to receive a life filled with laughter.
Aiba: Well, if we could do that it would be amazing ne.
Sho: That's right.
Aiba: If we could laugh like that.
[Announcer: Releasing stress from laughing, and raising immunity. it also appears they're exercises that fine tune your body's conditioning
at the same time...]
Maki: Um, teacher, I'd like to ask you something. Where did you buy that shirt? (writing)
[writing: Puzzle shirt]
Jay: Um, this is a custom order I made.
Maki: it's a special order ne. Thank you very much.
Jay: This is the god of 'hahaha'. (writing)
Maki: Ah, it's a god?
[writing: The god of laughter?]
Nino: Hey, hey! Those two have already started this exercise!
Aiba: Sorry, sorry, sorry;P
Sho: Teacher!
Jay: Yes?
Sho: It's sudden, but if you please...
Jay: Let's see ne. The first one we're going to do is called the yay breathing technique.
Jun: What is that?
Sho: Yay breathing technique?
Jay: it's the Yay breathing technique.
Aiba/Jun: The yay breathing technique.
Jay: The spirited breathing techinque ne.
Aiba: Ahh, let's put some spirit into it, let's put some spirit into it.
Jay: Here we go. Yyyyy- ay!
[writing: Spirit?]
Jun: Ehhh?? You;re kidding! You've got to be kidding!
Nino: Teacher, I'm sorry. I kind of wasn't able to see it very well right now, could you do it one more time? (writing)
Aiba: Sorry.
Jay: Yyyyyyy- ay!
Aiba: Teacher! I have a question!
Jay: Yes, what is it?
Aiba: What kind of effect does this have? (writing)
Jay: It replenishes your vitality so you can laugh with your whole body. It's kind of embarrassing ne. It brushes away the embarrassment.
Nino: It's a warming up-type thing ne. (writing)
Aiba: Aren't there a lot of things we need this time, mentality-wise? (writing)
Jay: So first of all you take one step forward. It doesn't matter which one.
Aiba: Take one step forward.
Jay: And you stretch your elbows down to touch your hips like this. Then eiiii~! Let yourself a get a good breath. And spring on your hips ne.
(writing)
All: Yyyyyyy~!
Jay: And then you take another step forward.
{writing: Not yet??]
Nino: Yyyyy~!
Jay: Ready, and-
All: Yyyyyy~ay!!!
Sho: Something got elevated. (writing)
Jay: It got elevated?
Sho: It did, it did.
[Announcer: Fter this they do even further super high exercises.]
Sho: Next.
Jay: Next ne, you make yourself feel happy ne. We're going to do the hands and feet ahaha calisthenics.
Sho: Ahaha?
Ohno: Ahaha?
Jay: That's right, here I go.
[writing: Over]
Jay: There is a proper meaning to doing this. (writing)
Aiba: There is ne? Can we get you to explain the meaning?
Jay: By shaking your hands and feet it improves the blood circulation in your whole body ne. So joining the ahaha to that opens up
your emotions ne. Then you get more and more courage. That's how you make your preparations for laughter. (writing)
Sho: Shall we do it 3 people at a time? (writing)
Jay: Ah, shall we do that?
Sho: So 3 vs. 3.
Jay: Okay, here we go~.
Aiba: Teacher...you're definitely taking us down with you. (writing)
Nino: So what about the feet part?
Jay: Feet is it?
Jun: That side can do it with Jay.
Aiba: Do the feet.
Jay: The main point ne, is ne, that it's the feeling like when you're trying to hold back your pee. (writing) Ahhhh~!
All: Ahhh~!
Jay: And then when you make a run for the bathroom ne, there's a line-up. (writing) So as you're tying to holod it in you're like
ha ha ha ha!
Nino: You couldn't laugh at this at all. In terms of this situation you couldn't laugh at all. (writing)
Jay: Here we go.
Aiba: What was that loneliness after it had ended ne. (writing)
Ogura: The people watching can laugh from the bottom of their hearts. (writing)
Sho: it's actually kind of fun to do it! (writing)
[Announcer: After this, wahaha with everyone! This week's honors student is Festival Man from Chiba who submitted the orange and pike
boiled rice. For the show please send in sumbissions of 'what did you do last night' for Funakoshi Eiichirou-san.]
Okay, so the first part was a little slow...but once they get to the exercises it gets way funnierXDD That power plate needs to find a new home in my apartment, anything that shortens my workout is fine with me;P Of course, might want to not eat beforehand...poor Aiba, thinking he's going to fartXDD (or somethihng....O_o) And Jun and Nino both standing over him in fiendish gleeXDDD Plus, that scary yoga;P Last week after going to the bar I tried some yoga the next morning like she suggested, but I think I overdid it cause one of my back muscles was killing me all day^^; At any rate, I lvoed when nino's like 'I'm not doing this' and then she yells at him and he joins inXDD Of course, who can forget the laughing exercises...I thought I'd dieXP Ah~, that's the way to end a long day, lots of ridiculous laughter and exercisesXD
Plus, I did Jun's latest Roadshow movie article^^

Matsumoto Jun's Talk Session, Hug A Movie Vol.3
Well then, this month the theme is the original version of [Kakushi Toride no San Akunin] that Matsumoto Jun himself is starring in
(May 10th release). His passionate feelings for this piece are in his respect for 'that person'.
- This time it's the original [Kakushi Toride no San Akunin]. Since you're doing it yourself is it little hard to talk about?
J: That's right ne~. It's hard (laughs).
- Did you see this movie after you decided you were going to do the remake?
J: Yes. I'd been interested in Director Kurosawa's works for quite a while, I was buying and collecting the DVDs. So, what would have
been the first one I saw...at any rate, when I saw one of the works once it got really tough midway through. I hadn't watched any
since.
- Why did it get tough?
J: It was the same the first time I saw [Kakushi Toride], the words were so fast that I had no diea what they were saying. Other than
that, my eyes weren't used to the black and white...
- Perhaps in movies from that period the voices sound as if they're mumbling?
J: I think you don't really get the sensation that they were setting it up for the voices to be easily heard.
- I think that things you can't follow should remain as they are (laughs).
J: That's how it is ne. That and, I say this above and beyond the fact that this [Kakushi Toride] is unbelievably interesting, they
unexpectedly did detailed things on the fly, that's the impression I get.
- Conversly, doesn't that become this movie's sense of speed?
J: Yeah yeah. An unbelievable sense of speed.
- Director Kurosawa was always picky about the weather, he was always waiting for the weather to change, so much that it became
legendary, but with regards to this movie there isn't very much of that.
J: That's right ne. I was told this by the staff when I was watching [Kakushi Toride] with them earlier, but they're clearly shooting
in an afforested area ne. And, though in that period there were no such things as afforested areas and they really had to be a
small copse, they unexpectedly shot in that kind of place.
- I didn't go so far as to realize that (laughs). Although these days you can watch things on DVD and pause it to pick apart things,
I think originally movies weren't that kind of thing. Because you watched movies as they were moving.
J: That's right, that's right. I said this earlier too but, the feeling that they did detailed things on the fly is definitely possible.
- That's how it is. Where in specific do you think this movie's sense of speed comes out?
J: As you would think, it has to be the scene where Mifune (Toshirou)-san is fencing with his sword atop his horse while racing along.
It's to the point where I felt like this one scene was the whole of the movie. An image like this in a time when there wasn't CG
is amazing. I watched this alone at my house, but when I saw this scene I got all worked up by myself, without thinking I said
'uwa, so cool!' (laughs).
- Certainly. I mean, the camera is panning, and even though they can't calculate the speed of the horse it's properly fit into the
image...
J: I heard that Mifune-san was extremely skilled at horseback riding. They said that at the time there wasn't anyone else that skilled.
- This movie is consumed with Mifune-san's coolness after all...
J: Of course I think there were many other elements, like the originality of the cut work, but I think Mifune-san's existence is something
big. Mifune-san's heroism that seemed as if he was unconcerned with anything, you could say.
- Hahaha, that's interesting.
J: It was already enough with just him being there, you could say... With movies that Mifune-san has appeared in I think there were
quite a lot of people who went to see them as performances of Mifune Toshirou the actor rather than just as a movie itself. That's
something amazing.
- This is an impolite way to say it but, there aren't very many people who call Mifune-san a "star" so to speak ne. But there is no
body who can replace Mifune-san. He's a one-of-a-kind existence. Well then, this isn't to put any pressure on you (laughs), but it
seems that filming with soon be ending on the [Kakushi Toride no san Akunin] that Matsumoto-san is starring in ne.
J: Yes. Abe (Hiroshi)-san, (Nagasawa) Masami-chan, Miyagawa (Daisuke)-san and I are playign a group of 4 that goes on a journey, but
I think the sense of the 4 of them being a unit it good. I guess it gets interesting... Or so I say, but I haven't seen it yet so
I gave no idea.
- I think that since it's a remake of a Kurosawa piece you'll get good reviews and negative reviews though...
J: Lately, though this is what I think, with things like movies and the arts I think enjoying them is the most important thing. So it's
fine if they can enjoy it. That doesn't particularly lower the bar for me though (laughs).
- The thing you musn't forget is, Kurosawa-san himself remade Dostoevsky's [The Idiot], remade Shakespeare's [Macbeth] into [Spiderweb
Castle (otherwise translated as 'Throne of Blood')]. So, I think a Kurosawa-san work being re-envisioned is just another inevitablity.
J: That alone is a good textbook ne.
I was really happy when I saw it was the original [kakushi] he was doing this month (a movie I've actually seen!XD). I wanted to hear more of Jun's thoughts on it...and I really agree with him that most people probably went to see movies simply because Mifune-san was in them, he has an amazing screen prescence, very powerful and alluring. Throne of Blood (why is it called that? the literal translation is Spiderweb Castle...^^;;) was also very good, but Kakushi is my favorite of the 2 Kurosawa movies I've seen^^ And I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had a hard time understanding the dialogueXDDD When I was watching Kakushi it took 5 min. just to get around the dialect, and then I had to crank the headphones to catch what was going on...still only got about 75-80% of it:S But that one scene was worth it...I think Jun's right, that one scene pretty much encapsulates the whole movie, which is really hard to do (and was probably completely unintentional). The sense of speed, the urgency of the conflict, the raw emotions...very well-depicted in that one shot. But I had no idea Kurosawa did a remake of The Idiot (which I have read)...apparently he wasn't satisfied with what the studio released though, so I don't know whether it's worth watching or not^^; Anyway, I look forward to seeing the remake, the CM looks amazing!<3 Well...with the exception of the title, and the super super awkward voice at the end trying to read 'May 10th, reborn' *cringes so much she shudders*>_< If only we didn't have to wait for the DVD...*cries*XS it'll be awesome though, you can get a feel for his portrayal of the role just from these few clips:3
In other news, I mentioned in my previous post that I got my new PMP (personal media player for those who asked;) the other day. My parents sent me some money for xmas and I bought it off ebay, it;s this one
here. I put all my PVs and mp3s and pictures of Japan on it, so I can carry it with me wherever I go (when winter ends...it's not supposed to go below 0^^;;). The first time I tried playing Happiness on it I couldn't stop giggling, all I kept thinking was 'I'm holding Arashi in my hand'XDDDD I still feel like that sometimes, it's super exhiliratingX3 And of course, La Familia...Jun, in my palm<3
Hehe, also, I won a rice cooker at my xmas union party, I've been using it here and there, but the other day I got inspired to try making onigiri^^ Here's what I ended up with:
I made the filling with tuna, light mayo, soy sauce, and red peppers:) They were so yummy...but, probably nothing special as far as onigiri go. I've got to find a way to season the rice...
Oh, Ohno's photobook, the scans I've seen so far are quite...nosebleed-inducingXD I downloaded the whole thing but haven't had a chance to look yet, it's going to be really fun^^ I'm glad they're making more, that was just cruel when there are so many fangirls who want one>_<
Anyways, enough of my rambling...XD Hope you all have a safe and happy week, take care and stay healthy!=)
