You're right, it's not the sort of movie that you can be thinking for, because higher brain functions only aggravate the "head-wrecking" centres of the brain. Wow, I never saw all those coincidences, though I did notice the resemblance between Dracula and Bono. Creepy isn't it?
So you enjoyed the movie then :) Fantastic movie; plot thin as water, a never ending sequence of SFX fights loosly connected, so brilliant......*salivate* so good
Actually, it was OK. Just fun, but plagarism tends to piss me off quite badly - mostly because if someone plagarised my work, I would break their legs :)
Oooh, I hated that movie.janey_macMay 22 2004, 17:27:58 UTC
Didn't notice the similarity to LotR though, but now thsat you've pointed it out, it's obvious.
I wouldn't have minded it except for the last scene. The "Ascension into HEaven" scene. It was like something out of Touched by an Angel. I could have tolerated the film otherwise. I liked the vampire spawn. They were cute and I liked how they went *POP* and burst in a splat of green goo.
I thought Frankenstein's monster was a whiny bitch.

Hyde reminded me of Shrek for some reason. I think that it may have been the accent, the bigness and the smashy-smashyness.
hey remember all the rip-off bits in movies after the Matrix; Shrek, Scary Movie etc. That pissed me off. Warning to allplagarists. Beware the leg-breaking Ellen. :)

That is a lot of coincidences

Lord of the Rings was waaaay better. Van Helsing seems like a cheap attempt to cash in on LOTR.

I think I'll wait for it to be on TV
then, I never go to the cinema any more and only get a few DVDs, unless
they are cheap.

I'm a bit hung up on watching for LOTR cash-in attempts right now, because any attempt at supernatural epic has been outdone before they start.
