First off, Romeo and Juliet at The Globe was one of the greatest disappointments I've had in London. After taking the tour of the theatre a week beforehand and getting choked up just thinking of the potential magic that could happen in a space that forces theatre to be so communal and democratic, the production itself just lacked any zing. Do you like Jeff Buckley? I'm going to this concert reading of R&J they're doing at Joe's Pub using his music to tell the story. I worry it could be like some crappy indie jukebox musical, but I have been listening to his music and thinking quite a few of the songs would work well in the story. It's at the end of May if you will be back/available then.
