Vito arrived at the Vault about an hour after the doors opened, and the club wasn't exactly jumping. It was only about nine p.m. and from what Vito knew, it didn't really take off until eleven or midnight, most evenings. Julian was working in the basement area tonight as well, and he was rather happy about it. While he was capable of shutting out the music after a while, it still took him some time every night to get used to it - the curse of superior hearing. Down here, it was much better, and as there was not much to do yet, almost relaxing.

Janie struggled over what to wear, before finally settling on a mix of her usual outfit, and something similar to what she used to wear at her terrible club job. Then, she left before she could change her mind again.

Getting in wasn't a problem, but she was nervous about Vito and Julian meeting.

"Hi..." Janie said, smiling as Julian walked by with the order. Then she noticed Vito and said hello once more.

Vito glanced at Janie, then Julian, then at Janie again. "Glad you made it," he said to her. "You look fantastic."

"Oh ... hi, Janie!" Julian answered over his shoulder, a bit startled when Janie was suddenly there. It was a pleasant surprise, however, and he smiled while he continued on his way to his customers' table and placed a couple of drinks there.

Then he returned to Janie to greet her properly.

"Important work is overrated," Vito said. "It's the less important jobs that give you time to yourself and less stress."

"Oh, sometimes I'd rather have less time and more the feeling to have done something not so trivial. I mean ... what you do is important, it helps people, it's needed. To get drunk, however, they don't need me."
