It's been more than two weeks--not because I've had better things to do, but because I've been very lazy. If you haven't heard, Episode III of the Star Wars prequels has acquired a name. That's right, in May of '05 we'll all be going to see Revenge of the Sith. The name seems to be a throwback to Return of the Jedi, which was originally titled Revenge of the Jedi. Boy, I have fond memories of my youth and Star Wars. One of those days where everythiing breaks at work today. First, our radioactive source sprung a leak--bad news. Later, a key part of the vacuum pump broke, rendering it incapable of interfacing with the gas plumbing. Of course, the resulting repairs broke a whole lot more plumbing. Yay! Good time at home this weekend. Amongst the highlight of the days was watching some good beach volleyball on NBC, the Hermosa Beach tourney. The women's final is always fun to watch, and I love Karch Kiraly--43, and not only does he do commentary for matches, but he plays competitively as well. Today was a ton of fun. 45 summer research students and faculty hit the Cannon River for some hardcore canoeing action. It was funny in some ways, because (as you might expect) there were plenty of pale--though not unappealing--bodies on display.
