EARTHQUAKE!

Apr 18, 2008 05:05

Holy crap. It's 5:00 AM, and my wife and I just about got knocked out of bed by what is apparently an earthquake that was centered somewhere NW of Evansville. 5.4 magnitude, according to early reports. It was enough that it shook our entire building and freaked us out pretty badly. I'd be happy if that never happened again, thank you.

Dude!

I've seen floods, a tornado and a 'Macro Burst' (which is where two storms crash (Which was MUCH worse than the tornado I saw.) Never an earthquake, for whick I'm thankful.

Glad you're safe and sound.

Yeah, I thought it was a microburst at first, too. It took me a while to figure out what really happened.

No worries about us. It probably just happened so my LJ friends would know that I was still alive. ;)

Supposedly it was felt up here in Wisconsin, but I slept through it.

Justin and I totally slept through it. O.o I only knew about it because my mom called me freaking out. Clearly, college life just makes you so tired you can sleep through earthquakes.

It's not just college life that makes you that tired. :P I've been waking up at that time of night lately, though, so I'm not that surprised. The windows were *loud* when they shook.
