Since this was my first full weekend away from the anklebiters, it was pretty relaxing. Saturday was spent at a friend's house who has a deck that has been dubbed the Party Deck, where we ate too much, enjoyed some footy and table tennis, and sat around and talked for a while. My dad used to be a school teacher; he 'retired' back in the 70s, but he still has those dreams where he's late to class, or forgot his pants, or can't find the children's tests ...

Urg. When I have bad dreams, those are what I have. I can't stand them.

I don't know. To this day I still have nightmares that I'm trying to control a classroom of kids who just WILL NOT obey me and stop talking. My efforts to get them to be quiet and listen to the lesson gradually escalate until I've done something absurdly violent or something.

I only have those dreams now; I didn't have them while I was teaching. I'm sure there's some deeper meaning, probably a reflection of feelings of helplessness in some real-world circumstance, but still. Maybe your brain is just trying to shake off the stress of school now that it's over.
