Today WIC called and offered me a job as a Lactation Peer Counselor. Someone in the office mentioned that I was very pro-breastfeeding and that I seemed like a real advocate for the cause. also: yay breastfeeding! I don't know why it's not like... basic, common norm. Well I guess I understand, but... yet I don't. When I have kids, breastfeeding (or anything natural really) won't even be a question.

I think the reason that formula got so mainstream is that at one point Doctors/Media were implying that science> man. Honestly, I don't really buy the uncomfortable, boobs have been sexualized bit... since seriously, when haven't boobs been hot? On the physical side, breastfeeding takes a lot out of you- though I think it equals out having to get out of bed to mix formula, feed the baby and then cuddle the baby back to sleep before going to bed yourself. Join the breastfeeding community, you'd be amazed at the number of difficulties that come up, the stupid things that are said to breastfeeding mothers, the absolutely retarded articles that end up in HUGE parenting magazines. I'm pretty lucky, I've only suffered from engorgement and overactive/forceful letdown.
