I honestly don't really have much of a response for you as to the Catholic stuff at the moment. However, I would love love love to see you soon.
I can try to be open to discussing everything though... as best as possible and maybe going through documents and info if you really really want. I was talking to my neighbor about two of four progressive topics yesterday... he's leaning towards your view of 2-3, which I struggled to discuss with him, because as always, I don't really have much to explain why I believe the non-progressive view. I still don't know what you'd like to see for 3 though... how you'd like it to look ideally.
As to the rest of it... congratulations!!! I think it would definitely be really exciting for you to take a different career path, especially since teaching right now is frustrating. I don't really know where you'd start, but it seems as though it would fulfill a dream of yours to try. <3
Yes, we should hang out. Agreed. As to #3, I can certainly get into it more in person, but a more democratic system of leadership. Don't get me wrong; I don't mean let's take a vote on teachings. That's asking for disaster. But one example is electing bishops. We did that until the First Vatican Council. I think it's been to our detriment that we eliminated that system, especially since that has a basis in Scripture itself.
But let's hang out. Give me until the end of the week, since I'm in class 8:30-5 every day this week. But after that, I'M DONE! :)
