Yeah, I didn't really think the fact that Adam's a prince would be a surprise to anyone. Of course he's a prince.

Brilliant. Just brilliant - the pacing, the texture, the subtle details that bring this vivid world and these characters to life without endless exposition. So very glad to see the update!

Yay! Thank you! I'll own I was a bit worried about the tonal change. I re-read it over the holidays to sort of re-assess where it was going and was struck by how much darker the first two sections were. I was concerned I was losing some of that--although, OTOH, it's Adam, I have a hard time believing all darkness and despair with him.

My brain is perhaps a nice place for the tourists to visit, but I'm not sure how great it is for the natives.
