What the hell?! Does he extend the same courtesy to you when you do things he doesn't like/approve of? Somehow I doubt it.

Stop trying to rationalize it into being OK and just tell him to get his shit together! He doesn't have the right to lower YOUR quality of life with HIS clutter just because he thinks it's OK. Sounds like he belongs in a dorm room and not a shared home until he grows up.

I keep forgetting t lock these cathartic posts so that random strangers lacking context can't come in bitching at me. And for the record, yes, he does extend the same courtesy. If you ask him, there are a ton of things I do that annoy him. But marriages are not like how they show them in Disney movies, they are a compromise. So yes, the messes royally piss me off. But the dinners he makes from scratch every night even though he's a full time student and employee, do not. The constant and utter support he shows me for me pursuing my art and my sport, do not. The intellectual conevrsations we have about the numerous topics we both share an interest in, do not. I could go on if you'd like.

I've found that when I had your attitude, I was just always pissed off at the world for inconveniencing me.

I guess I'm a control freak, but if someone is angering me, they are controlling me. That sort of thing.
