Sales people

I went into a Radio Shack in Santa Monica to pay my phone bill and the guy said their system was down and they were not able to take payments. So since I was there I asked if they sold camera detectors. He said no and scoffed at me and said "This isn't a spy shop" to which I replied "I know but I saw one at Harbor Freight tools and they are not a ( Read more... )

It's nice when they're helpful. When I had AT&T I could barely get their attention to pay my bill and got fed up with their plans and no phones I wanted. So I walk into Verizon and was shocked at how helpful they are that it made the switch so much easier.

Yeah, I think that was the thing that kept me faithful to sprint for so long was that they have excellent customer service. Their phones were okay but they had such variety that I always found something I liked. I was just amazed at the first guy's incredible stupidity. I am they type of person who just likes to buy stuff. If he were smart he would have been nice and said "Oh let me check over here" and lead me through the rows of shiny new merchandise. I always leave with something so I am an easy sell. The second guy was smart enough to spot that and was clever enough to not get pushy or seem apathetic.

I hate Radio Shack these days. It seems like they hire any numb nut to work there. Every single one of them is like this now and it gets on my nerves. The last time I went in there to buy an adapter I had to wait at the counter for almost 20 minutes while the ENTIRE staff was fucking around in the store room. I was tempted to just steal the shit. I guess that they must have lowered their wages or something because when I was younger the entire staff at Radio Shack was actually knowledgeable. These days they couldn't tell you the difference between mono and stereo cabling. Fucking retards.

Yeah, I haven't had a reason to go to a Radio Shack for a few years so I had no idea that this was a known epidemic. You must be right about the wages. I think the staff was much smarter and more helpful many years ago before Best Buy and Fry's etc. lured all the good employees away.

Yeah, I agree. That's the lure of those big places though. They'll pay their employees more and try to get them through the doors. It just sucks because Radio Shack's are everywhere and when you become accustomed to good service it's hard to get used to ass-clowns like the ones they have these days.
