People with more amazon.com experience than me?

I'm pretty new to the whole actually using amazon, instead of just drooling over things in it :P. So, does anyone know if I can preorder a book and order another book, but have them shipped together when the first book comes out? I.e., pay just one "per order" fee.

You can put a pre-order item and an in-stock item on the same order and select "ship the order together" to reduce shipping charges. Depending on how far out the pre-order item is, amazon may still ship the in-stock item first but if they do that, they don't charge extra shipping.

Also with a pre-order, there's a low price guarantee. If the price drops between when you place your order and when it ships, you get the lower price. I don't think they do the same with in-stock items though if the price drops a few days after your order ships.

Thanks for clarifying! I know all this must be somewhere in the site's FAQ, but sometimes I get too confused when trying to deal with this particular one.
