from the therianthropy/otherkin communities and the furry fandom. I'm willing to let it public during a few days, only screening non-friends. Those who don't want to read about a certain subject, just don't click on the lj-cut.
I'm getting slightly bored. Not about schmick art like
likeshine's and whatnot, but about the communities and fandom, the amount of nerdy stuff you find aka pokemon and digimon and whatevermon, not my kind of thing. And uh things I'm just growing out of it, no comment. And all the trolls from e.g.
wtf_fa and whatnot, dudes like vegex who have nothing better to do from their life than to snark. C'm'on, they ain't better than the most insecure furries finally, they're even worse as they're an annoyance. Having passed through various steps, I can understand otherkin, furries and trolls, just I don't want to belong to any part of it anymore. Will I still post anthro stuff on the Internet? Likely less and less. Just possibly one thing or another for a cool online friend. Or an eventual fun trade. I won't probably never commission, or call for commissions.
And there's the insecurity about nudity, especially under the pressure of American puritanism. C'm'on, there's been a problem in a football match yesterday, a dude walking nude at the end of the match. He got arrested, obviously, lack of common sense. But the images weren't censored aka his crotch and the family jewels were clearly visible. That passed in the news, and kids saw him. Not a big deal in Belgium.
The furry fandom had a bad, bad influence on my drawings in the end. Either I step back, or my comics project is pwned. There are still some good artists from who I'll check artwork once in a while, for the quality or the fun.
Now about paleoart. I'm stepping back from it, true. Just: I don't feel like drawing it currently. Paleoart was mostly a way to hide therianthropy when I begun, back in 2001. The whole scenery concept about the shouting Liliensternus (
http://dino.lm.com/images/display.php?id=184 ) was based on my feelings at the time. It was clearly a therian concept. Just, having a scientifical basis, I was better at rendering them realistically than most therians (not all, I count about 10 otherkin/furries in the Dinosauricon gallery). Also, back in 2001, I drew some dinosaur-like characters. Maybe I'm just letting it rest, and I'll produce some paleoart later again, at the occasion. Or on some purpose.
There's a good fantasy fandom in Belgium. Mostly Dragons and leprechauns and Elves, and Dwarves and "Nûtons, Massotês...", and werewolves. And a bunch of schmick comics, and Pierre Dubois's illustrated Encyclopedia of Elves and Leprechauns. My Reptile People project, as well as some fantasy pieces I could draw in the future, belong to the European fantasy world, rather than to the furry fandom. Anthro art is considered fantasy art here.
Next year I'll have much work with mushrooms, and it's gonna be my main scientific activity, letting few place for the rest.
Cheers - Nyo.
