OUKA FUUJIN - LULZ THE "WORDY" ARTBOOK OF HAKUOUKI
Just an idea from me, and fangirl_ism has heard it already lol. If you don't wanna read the lol!randomness then just skip right ahead to the LJ cut.
Ouka Fuujin (or is it puujin? lols)...I guess you could roughly translate that as "Transient Illusion". Ouka...which is lol!cherryblossom carries the meaning of "transient" in both Hakuouki and lol!Japanese, and fuujin is lol!worldly matters which means illusion in lol!zen or whatever that's called. (I'm not very smart so lawls.) It's awesome that Hakuouki has these pretty names, but sometimes I think it sucks that how they never really explain their names. I mean, I had to use my imagination leap to figure that out and I don't even know if that's the right interpretation at all lol.
Okay, so assume that I am right, does that mean I should read it or not LAWLS? Since it's just an illusion after all, hahaha. Or maybe ASCII MEDIA and Otomate are using this name to laff at us that the money we spent in the fandom is just a transient illusion lol. THEY WANT US TO BE STUCK IN THIS ILLUSION LOLLLLLLL.

Okay, here's the cover of the artbook. I don't feel like waking up everyone and their mom with my scanner's awesome noise, so here I am, taking snapshots in the most non-intrusive way lawls.

Basically, the artbook is separated into two sections. The first section is the "illustrated story" section lol. Here's the table of contents.
I took a few pictures from this section, but honestly, it's like one huge 2-page spread artwork that you saw on DGS, and then followed by 3-4 pages (single sided) of novels.
Yes, Kazama is awesome, I know lol.

IT'S SO MUCH READING TO DO LOLOL.
Unfortunately I am no longer interested in the story of Hakuouki, I am just collecting the stuff because of Kazuki Yone's artwork. I think I lost the "motivation" the moment that I see Otomate milking the series so much with all the porting and "merchandise". However, I'm still following because Kazuki Yone once stated in her interviews that she likes drawing guys with swords and Hakuouki is the project that she has been hoping for since last Thursday lol.
Yeah, okay, I will stop sounding like a Kazuki Yone fangirl and get on with the rest of the post.
NOW HOW CAN I FORGET ABOUT HIM HAHAHAHA!
I think the only thing other than Kazuki Yone's work that made me play Hakuouki is the fact that all the other Shinsengumi guys die at the end of Kazama's route. I liked it, I think Chizuru should end up with Kazama, cause lawls... I think it would be cooler if the two stayed as the "overseer of time". Cause what really awaits Chizuru in others' ending are either death...or more "hinted" death, although they may appear as "good endings". (IIRC with the exception of Harada (or maybe Toudou?), pretty much everyone else drops the hint that they'll die some point before Chizuru.)
AHEM OKAY.
There I go rambling again lol.
Then we got the pages with some art and introduction of the CD drama. This is pretty much another way of saying "we're pretending to have some 'new' content in here so everyone will be happy 8D". Yeah okay, sure, whatever lulz.
And then some more artwork that we've already seen in the Zuisouroku artbook lulz.
Seriously, just get Zuisouroku instead if you cannot understand Japanese, besides, Zuisouroku's artbook is heavier lol 8D.
Finally, the last section of the book is the so-called "story" section.
It's a section where it talks about the character's story in the game, it's not exactly in extreme detail, but it's simple enough that everyone gets the gist of what happened lol.
So yeah, it mostly got the CGs from Zuisouroku, but notice how small they are lol.
If you wanna collect CGs in an artbook, this is NOT the book you will want to have.
The Zuisouroku has something similar but in conversation style, so again, get Zuisouroku if you don't care about the novels lol.
