"Scared little mouse, that one," she said absently when Chapel brought up Gaila; the Orion might be good in bed and half decent with computer programming, but she didn't have what it took to survive in the Empire. With her pheromone suppressors, she was all but useless.

She didn't immediately respond to Chapel's assertion that they were kindred spirits. Normally the mere idea would've made her laugh, but she sensed something in the other woman. A mutual hate for men, perhaps, or a mutual fury about what passed for acceptable treatment of women in Starfleet ( ... )
