Yay!! The first episode is available online at STARZ.com. I watched it last week, about five times. Tonight is the "official" premiere at 9 pm. The two main actors are on the cover of TV Guide this week, as well as having interviews on various media sites. If the first season is a success, TPTB will hopefully take the entire book series under ( Read more... )

I like the gallery pics, but it won't even let me watch a preview, so whether I'll be able to watch the ep seems dubious. Which - waah! I shall try though, cos it does look like they may have actually caught the spirit of the books, and the Claire and Jamie do rather look as I imagined them! *crosses fingers*

Oh, that's right! Sorry!! Apparently, the free first ep is not available outside the US. DOH! My bad.

All the interviews with the authoress, Diana Gabaldon, she is VERY satisfied with the series so far. According to her, Ron Moore is doing a magnificent job with the project. When DG saw Sam Heughan's screen test, she exclaimed that "he is Jamie Fraser!".

Can't wait until ep 2 next week. Maybe it will go to Netflix or Amazon quickly.

Well since it's a British-American production, not just American, that seems rather harsh... Shall have to cross my fingers that it's allowed over sooner rather than later...

Yeah, that's a big issue with the European fans. Sony owns the distribution rights, so any market that wants to air it has to go through Sony. I don't think they are showing it in the UK until next year.

I saw it, it's available on a download site somewhere. I thought it was beautifully filmed and are doing the best they can to stick to the books. Its quite impossible to do the books exactly, especially one written in the first person, but I really enjoyed it.

Yay! Glad you liked it! It is impossible to do it exactly, and will be interesting to see how close they follow the story line. Some people found the voiceover annoying, but if you haven't read the books, it is helpful. It didn't bother me.
