Smart TV

I bought a new television. It's smarter than me.

My nine year old lcd tv died. I did my research and finally decided on a Vizio smart tv. It has built in 'apps', more than I will ever use. I have to figure out how to make them work. Netflix and Hulu are built in. I don't have an account with either. Yet. I may test out the free one week trial offers the next time I am on stay-cation.

This tv is much larger than the old one, so I bought a new stand to hold it. See my Pros, JJD and Mad Men dvd's on the right? That's the other thing. I can't hook up the dvd player to the tv due to the lack of rca plugs. My satellite dish connects via rca plugs. If I want to use the dvd player, I have to disconnect the satellite cables and connect the dvd. So, to avoid that inconvenience, I may have to buy a new dvd player with HDMI access instead. Bugger.

This second pic shows the TV and what I am watching. "The People's Couch". I love this show! It is based on the UK show Gogglebox. It is hilarious watching other people commenting on what they are watching. All the groups are hilarious. It makes me LOL every week.

I do like the new tv. The picture is amazing!! Crisp, clean and clear! I was able to connect to my "old school" stereo speakers for simulated surround sound. Sometimes I like it loud. :)

Kodiak was irritated by me taking pics of the tv when he wanted to play. Can't believe he is almost two years old! I'm in touch with a breeder for another puppy. She was expecting a litter this month, but the female ended up not pregnant after all. The next litter she is expecting won't be ready until May. Longer than I wanted to wait, and that is if the female actually becomes pregnant. I hope she does. I don't want to wait too long for my next puppy.

Taking off next Friday to my sister Dawn's in Buffalo, NY. Probably be there about a week. My mom is having some health issues and aging issues that we need to discuss. One other sister, three of her grandkids and my brother will be there, so we can all sit down and help Mom decide what she wants to do. I think my oldest sister, with whom she lives, has finally realized that Mom needs more care and attention than she is currently able to provide. My brother lives close by to them, but has limited contact with Mom, due to his family's needs and his work. A poor excuse, maybe. If needs be, I will take a leave of absence from work to help my sister out and possibly get Mom placed in an assisted living facility. Should be an interesting week to say the least. I'll be staying in a hotel, with my two dogs, to lessen the chaos at Dawn's house. I need my own space. I love my family, but living with six people in a small house with four dogs for a week would be too stressful for everyone!

I've been enjoying all the new The Professionals and The Sentinel Big Bang stories. It's so awesome to have so much new art and great new stories to enjoy! Thank you to all the talented authors and artists for sharing your work!
