I am a fan of (most things) PBS. Downton Abbey, Sherlock, Wallander, Call the Midwife, etc...many moons ago as a teenager, the original Brideshead Revisited, and occasionally The Professionals. Anyway, tonight I stumbled upon The Crimson Field.
A story of volunteer nurses in field hospitals during WW I. Very interesting! I recognized a few characters from other British productions in this show. Mosely and Spratt from DA! Plus a couple of background characters, who I do not know the names of. lol I wish they would repeat Larkrise to Candleford on my local station, but it has not happened for over a year. Oh well. But they have started showing the GBB recently, which is pretty entertaining. Much more reserved than the US baking competition shows.
On a personal note, I had my second cataract surgery this morning on my left eye. Had the right eye done in August. Very strange. From November of 2015 to March of 2016, I had developed cataracts in both eyes. There was no previous indication of cataracts until I went to the ophthalmologist in March because my sight was so bad even with my glasses. All I can say is WOW!!! what a difference! I will still need glasses for close up work, but since the cataract repair in my right eye, my vision went from 20/80 back to 20/20. Hoping my left eye will be the same. Going back tomorrow for a post surgery check, and I am off work until Monday.
Hoping to decorate for Halloween this year. I have not done so in a few years, since I am usually working. Working this year too, but I love Halloween, so I will try to decorate this year regardless.
Off to bed. Dropping the boys at daycare before going back to get the eyeball checked. Then shopping and maybe lunch out with friends. Last weekend off for a while, and I will do my best to enjoy it.
