(FIC) Finally

It wasn’t like you meant to fall for him, it was accident, you swear it was an accident to fall for the other. Just a spur of the moment kind of thing, that’s what it was, that’s what you thought it was.

You were sitting next to each other on the bleachers with Yoseob sitting on the other side of him, both of you unconsciously snuggling into the warmth at your sides, red and orange leaves were swirling all around you in the autumn breeze as you continued watching Hyunseung, Dongwoon along with the rest of the soccer team practice for their upcoming game next week while Junhyung was in the library cramming some last minute studying for an exam he had tomorrow.

One moment your eyes were glued to the practice, watching every movement that your friends made, how they passed the ball, how they blocked the other half of the team from ever getting close to the prize, and you don’t know how but the next you had turned to face him, you could have swore you heard him whisper something to you, and all you see is two large dark orbs looking down at you. Two dark orbs that feel like they are piercing right into your soul, exposing the world to you for the first time. And for the first time in your life you feel like you could drown in the dark seas of his eyes.

A hand waving in front of your face was enough to snap you out of your trance and the realization hit you like a punch to the stomach. You suddenly felt breathless, like there was not enough oxygen in the world to fill your lungs. And then that’s when you notice your heart, your heart is pounding painfully fast inside of your chest and you don’t know how to get it to stop.

‘Kwang, are you okay?’ He asks and you don’t know how to answer, you weren’t alright but there was no way in all hell you were going to tell him that your heart was suddenly beating fast… for him.

You nodded and done the only thing you could think of, you stood up and ran away.

This was the start of your problems. After getting over your little freak out over suddenly realising you were crushing on one of your best friend Yoseob tells you he’s gay… and he’s crushing on the one you happen to be crushing on. Yoon Doojoon.

And here you were thinking that having girls falling all over him was bad, no one could resist Yoseob’s charms and somehow you knew that it would only be a matter of time before Doojoon fell for Yoseob. Your chances were growing slimmer by the minute.

You go to Junhyung hoping that he might be able to give you some love advice, or might at least be able to help you get these feelings to go away. You knock on his door slowly hoping that he would be inside his dorm room alone and to your gratefulness he is. He welcomes you in with a motherly smile and lets you make yourself comfortable on Hyunseung’s bed while he sits across from you on his own.

“What’s up Kwang Kwang?” He asks as you run your long fingers through your hair for the umpteenth time that day.

“I’ve fallen for someone I shouldn’t,” You mumble almost inaudibly.

“Oh… why shouldn’t you have fallen for that person?” The question is expected and yet you still don’t know how to answer it.

“B-Because… I… uh… a friend of mine likes the same person…”

It wasn’t a lie it was just not the entire truth.

You figure he didn’t have to know that though.

“Kwang Kwang, would this friend happen to be Yoseob?” Junhyung asks and a small gasp of surprise escapes your lips.

“H-How di-did…”

“It’s a mother’s intuition sweetie.”

‘He’s so taking this mother thing too far’ You can’t help but think as you roll your eyes.

“Does that make Hyunseung daddy cause we all know you two get it on like rabbits,” You say sarcastically, snickering silently to yourself when he flushes pink.

“Shut up if you want my advice,” He threatens and you do as you’re told because you really need help with this problem. “That’s a good daughter, now honey, I can’t give you any advice because both of mummy’s daughters like the same boy. It’s up to him who he wants.”

“Fuck you.” With that you storm out of his room with a murderous intent in your eyes as you decide to go find your ‘father’ hoping to complain to him about how his boyfriend truly believes he’s a woman.

Days passed and you tried to limit your interaction with Doojoon but it never worked, when you were together he would do these cute little things that set your heart racing and your cheeks turning scarlet. You don’t know if he does it because he thinks you’re pulling away from him and don’t want to be friends or if it’s because there is another meaning behind the slight lingering touches, the warm smiles directed only at you, the words whispered so close to your ear that his lips brush your skin, the hugging from behind. You don’t know if any of this has another meaning and even the thought of asking him chases all of your wits away.

“Hey Kwangie, why are you sitting out here all alone?” Doojoon asks and you know you shouldn’t but you do, you turn to look at him, your forlorn expression saddening slowly as you know you cannot and will not ever have the being in front of you.

“Because it’s quiet, it lets me think,” You say with a sigh as he passes you a cup of hot chocolate before sitting down next to you.

His side is warm as usual, you note as you try to resist leaning your head on his shoulder. Because that would be so very wrong and so very girlish, and you are no girl, no matter what Junhyung thinks. You’ve always noticed that Doojoon smells like honey and vanilla but now the smell seems to intoxicate your senses as it wafts into your nostrils.

“What are you thinking about?” He asks softly as his arm wraps around your should and pulls you closer to his side, under the large warm jacket he’s wearing.

‘He is just trying to protect you from the small snowflakes that are beginning to descend from the grey sky,’ you try to tell yourself that although your efforts are in vein when he removes his scarf and wraps it around your neck before pulling your face into the crook of his own. Your lips are so close to the tanned skin, you are so close to him, all of this sets your heart pounding in your chest and your breath to come in short shaky bursts.

“The snow’s early this year,” Doojoon states and you are sure if you were coherent enough to look up at him a soft smile would be adorning his lips.

You know the snow is early but being here, so close next to him it feels like early summer, just the right amount of warmth.

“Hyung…” You whisper, your voice shaky and uncertain.

“Why won’t you tell me you love me?” Doojoon blurts out.

You freeze against his side as your mind slowly tries to register the words that left his mouth. It wasn’t possible, the words you thought you heard couldn’t be right. You had to be hearing things, he couldn’t, no there was no way that he’d ask why won’t you tell him that you love him.

Slowly you feel yourself becoming disentangled with him as he pulls you away to stare at you, his eyes flickering with so many emotions you are terrified to understand. His hands gradually move from your shoulders, caressing the skin of your neck until they reach your cheeks. You stare wide-eyed at him as he ever so slowly leans closer to you.

And he kisses you, gentle and slow. It was everything you had ever dreamed of and more, he was everything you’ve ever dreamed of.

And finally you had him, finally he was yours.

“I love you.”

“Finally,” He sighs against your lips, “I love you too.”
