Today was just a crazy day, in so many aspects.
First, you have my ridiculous AP biology teacher deciding to keep a test Monday on subjects we've hardly touched on - and stuff she's only spent one class period teaching - and she only covered half the material. Normally, I love her to death, and can do fine without her teaching much, but this time it bothers me because I don't have the hours to teach myself, and it's not the easiest material...anyway....
Then, later I found out I got a 95 on my econ project. MORE then satisfied. He's a nitpicker, but still overall I found his judgment kind, if not a little nice, maybe my pretty partners did help lol ;-)...
Soiree a week from tomorrow, I'm going to be ready for once! :)
Anyhow, the real story from today - the ridiculous storms.
- A
Bed Bath and Beauty Roof Collapsed amongst a foot of rain this afternoon...with people inside. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.
- Schools were greatly affected; of course, all sporting events were canceled. A portable at Tarpon Springs High School was struck by lightning - a friend from there told me no one was hurt, but their first period was extended to 2 hrs and 40 minutes due to safety concerns. Power was lost at 2 high schools (I believe Pinellas Park and....? can't remember the other one right now). The phones went down at my school, and had just enough power surges to shut down the air around 11:45. The light went out at 86/`131st, causing havoc after school.
- PTSA STOPPED service at noon for a while until flooding subsided.
- School buses arrived to stops hours late due to the need to avoid flooding.
- Park blvd was CLOSED
- Stores were closing
- Belcher Road (the road my neighborhood is off of) was CLOSED due to flooding. Draining got backed up
- It's the highest the lake behind my house has ever been.
- the rain was going SIDEWAYS
- It was so bad some kids voluntarily stayed after school because they didn't want to drive in it.
. . . and today was the day I chose to wear sandals.
Anyhow, pretty easy/quick day at work today, 945-615 tomorrow, then out for the night....Sunday=super bowl on big screen + all my HW + econ paper due Tues.
Life's pretty good...God bless =)
