Homicide: Life on the Street

Gary Russell has got me hooked on this series. I'm now watching series one (having watched series two), and I'm stunned that the pathologist is an Australian chick. From Sydney. Picked the accent in her first scene, had it confirmed in a rather offbeat scene about crabs. The crustaceans you eat, though the joke was... oh, I'm sure you get it... :-)

I remember "Homicide" - perhaps incorrectly - as the start of the wave of quality crime drama that came from the USA in the 90s. And it had the guy out of "Live & Let Die" and "Alien" in it - result! At the time the mid-episode rock video seemed an edgy and creative idea. Now everyone does it, or even worse, the 'epilogue ballad'. Argh!

I *think* you remeber right. While I do enjoy Columbo, etc, they're quaint rather than good quality. And you're sooooo right about the music video!
