Being a senior who has no idea where she's going or what she's doing next year is not fun. Israel? New York? Argentina? Elsewhere? Applying to grad school / law school / midrasha? Should I be applying to every place ever? Looking for an apt in the Lower East Side? I like having things planned in advance and circumstances at the moment make that ( Read more... )

hmm, well, do you want to go for more school? if yes, then you should apply to more schools! which circumstances are you talking about? and i would not worry about the apartment thing until you figure out if you want to stay in NYC.

the problem with the apt thing is you have to kind of apply 3 months in advance sometimes, to get an apartment. unless i want to live "at home" in pennsylvania, where i won't be able to get a job. :-/
how much longer do you have at the u of mn?

is that because absolutely everyone is trying to get an apartment in new york? if you apply three months in advance, and then they accept you, there's not an obligation to take that apartment is there? i imagine people apply to more than just one place at a time, so that sorta thing must happen often... so maybe you could apply to places even if you don't really think you're gonna stay?

i graduate in may 2010 =)

God, I feel the same. "Real life" is creeping up on us, or more like crouching in the corner waiting to pounce on us as soon as May rolls around. I have no freaking clue what I want to do either or where I want to be, and it makes me relieved that someone else feels the same. Excuse my ignorance, but what is midrasha?

Midrasha is like, full or part time studying in an institute that focuses on Torah and other Jewish subjects. But hey if we're both totally jobless and adrift next year at this time, let's do something crazy like move to costa rica and teach english, haha :)
