Try and focus on more of that and less on the many negative aspects of it

...and on the fact that two wonderful friends put together another bike especially for Alex which is even more special to him because it was made just for him, i.e. that even something so invasive and disturbing can bring gifts along with it.

Believe me, I know how hard it is to be positive when you're feeling so overwhelmed to begin with, and then something even more uber crappy piles on, especially when clinical depression is involved. But Mikey's right - our own serenity and contentment ultimately lie with us, and finding a way to create that for ourselves and the ones we love.
