This is a video of a Rube Goldberg machine made in Garry's Mod (A physics engine mod made using Half-Life 2's physics engine). A Rube Goldberg machine is essentially something that uses an insanely long sequence of events to accomplish a simple task. I thought Half-Life 2 had those sorts of things already in it? One level or another.. I remember something about it.

But don't count on me to be right, here. I'm clueless about video games these days. I have just recently (re)-introduced my most advanced working system as the Gamecube. Before I was at N64 level. Which is still one of the fucking best ever. Along with SNES. From Ocarina of Time to the original NES Mario's, Mario Kart('s!) Super Mario.. all of those. They may not have mind-blowing visuals, but they have heart. That will always mean more, at least to me. Maybe it's partly because I grew up with it, and nostalgic value, but a lot of that.. it's so well executed that more recent games can't compare. Or if they could, they certainly don't. As if quality was in higher demand then. =)

I agree with you that heart means more then graphics in a game. But Healf life and HL 2 both have a lot of it IMHO. Now, most of the shit on the xbox I think is severly lacking in this area.

Hell I still play SUper smash bros on the N64.

Some of us lack the necessary hardware to play new games. I suppose, if I combined all my parts from all my computers and systems and somehow hotwired them to actually work with each other, I'd stand a chance of making some of this stuff work. As is, not a chance. ..So I can't really say.

The first Super Smash Bros. was a blast. Actually, a lot of those party games for N64 were. I loved the first few Mario Party's that got put out. The variety was there for so much continuous play.. but, I suppose that was the original goal, wasn't it? =)
