... i HATE my cable company.  I am still battling with them oevr a $93 payment they cashed - they can't read the copy from the bank.  Today I get a letter "important information about your account" written outside.  I open it as I am walking in the door and get a KILLER paper cut on my finger - now I want to curl up and cry :-(  Its hard to type ( Read more... )

I can get it here...and my company is pushing us to do so... however, I way too afraid to disconnect the work set up to install it.

Figured, I would leave all as is, less agravation. We have been advised NOT to accept any 3yr contracts w/Comcast or anyone else....the Firos may become mandatory....it is now, but they mean they are going to contract a deal for employees and put the whole system on it internally...what ever that means....well are also going to get formal reviews now and raises, I cant tell if this is good news or bad news.

Okay you CAN get it - the WANT you to get it and you WON'T --- I hate you! ugh!

Seriously might be an issue since you are a renter - you'd probably have to get the owner to do it. Its a Long process - I have heard of techs being at houses for 2 days.

That being said there is no reason why it wouldn't work for you. Its like a cell phone. It picks up a signal where ever you are....

Remember....I know not what I am talking about...but,
one of our problems it that my company functions totally online (comptuer, phones, email, servers and what ever else). Because most comcast and verizon (DSL) providers use a neighborhood shared network...if too many people in the area are using the network, our computers lock up and our phone quality/clarity is poor.

Verizon Firos apparantly GTE's something (forgot the terminology...Ruben is really good w/this stuff however) where there would never be a time that we were waiting for the Network. This means functioning systems, clear phones, less problems/stress of agents/management/clients....better service.

I have no clue if I am making sense, but that is the story. I was worried about disconnecting the work set up and reconnecting....if I have to clean the house to have a tech here....they can deffinately forget about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup - FIOS is the speed of light --- one of three reasons I want it -- #1 I hate my cable co. #2 it will be cheaper than my cable and have more choices.

Once they install and test it -- it will work - if it doesn't work you can stay on DLS (or do you have cable).

I don't think they care how clean your house is - I am sure they have seen worse!
