Donghae whipped the cream as the children copied, their adjacent parents helping them out.

"And now we-"

The class was disrupted as a last minute young man showed up. Donghae almost dropped the bowl in his hands, smiling in a flustered manner at the parents in front of him. "We obviously don't do that."

Sungmin rushed to the only boy with no one by his side, the little boy patiently smiled as Sungmin helped to put the cream in the cakes.

The set of mothers stole glances at the odd young man, who wore all black and had sunglasses on his head, chains hanging off his jeans paired with pierced ears. They tried to ignore his presence and continue on spending the afternoon with their kids.

Donghae had the issue of acting calm as he instructed them what to do, trying not to embarrass himself. Unlike the parents who wanted to ignore the young man, Donghae's attention was too focused on him.

"I'm sorry I'm late." Sungmin said as the young mothers filed out.

"Its fine," Donghae said politely, grinning at the young boy who triumphantly ate his piece. "Your brother held himself well for the most of it."

"I did good." The young boy exclaimed, Donghae chuckled when the boy ran to speak to a classmate. The nursery school teacher bid back his words, unsure of what to say.

He stiffened when Sungmin reached a hand and wiped the bit of cream on his lips. "You had some left."

Donghae felt the heat rising to his neck, and massaged the back of his neck in an awkward manner.

"Hyung! Hyung!" The young boy cried out, grabbing Sungmin's hand. "Kamen Rider is starting soon!"

Sungmin smiled considerately at his brother, and bid Donghae goodbye as they left the classroom. Donghae continued watching until they were out of sight, then slumping on the desk behind him.

"You still like him?" A fellow teacher asked. Donghae nodded as she teased, "You have to hurry, the kids will be graduating in spring."

That only made Donghae dropped further into his hands.

-

"Good job," He exclaimed, the young boy grinned and continued when Donghae leaned in and whispered. "Does... Does Hyung like someone?"

To his shock, the young boy nodded.

"Who does he like?" He asked hurriedly, remembering to keep his voice low.

"Me!" The young boy exclaimed, Donghae dropped his mouth and struggled to keep a straight face. Then again, he should have known better than to ask the 5-year-old.

He often thought about what kind of person Sungmin would come to like. With his eccentric style and aloof attitude, he figured Sungmin would like someone similar to his tastes.

Then again, maybe the young man would enjoy some mature, someone who worked 9-5 salary type jobs. Sungmin may like someone who works in the office, someone who drives fast cars and owns expensive homes here and there.

He suddenly wished he had a higher-earning job. Yet he liked his work, working with kids and helping them out, it was a career he looked forward to every day.

Donghae knelt there, wearing with a pink apron courtesy of the school, cringing at his own appearance. He was nothing of Sungmin's type, and he sighed solemnly at the thought.

"Is teacher sad?"

Donghae instantly beamed a smile, his arms crossed over the low risen table. "Not at all."

The young boy then showed the drawing, covering in stars and colors out of the line. "Do you think hyung will like it?"

Donghae grinned and nodded firmly, "Definitely."

-

"If you count the mice in his photo, how many are there?"

"FIVE!" The children yelled in unison.

Donghae covered one, "How many are there now?"

"FOUR!"

Donghae smiled, trying to remain as composed as he could. It was difficult considering the crowd of mothers staring at him, although this was once a task he done with ease.

The fact that Sungmin was standing in a corner with his arms crossed, his eyes intently on him, made the task a lot difficult. He wished he wasn't this way around him, but he couldn't help himself.

The nursery school teacher walked around, scanning the different drawings each student made, complimenting and offering help when needed. Once he finished his rounds, he knelt beside the young boy who almost finished his drawing.

Once class ended, Sungmin walked forward, his boots echoing against the floors.

Donghae enjoyed seeing Sungmin lose his indifferent expression and greet his younger brother with excitement. The few times he was able to see a much different side, one most probably haven't seen.

"He's doing well in class." Donghae commented. Sungmin raised his head to meet his, resuming his aloof expression, making Donghae's expression faltered.

He wished he was someone who could make Sungmin smile like before.

"Is there any homework that needs to be done?" Donghae shook his head. He then remembered the child's report he had to give, he went through his desk of papers when Sungmin furrowed his eyebrows.

"You're looking for a new job?"

"Hm?" Donghae followed his stare at the wanted ads on the desk. "Ah, yes. Something more, you know... masculine."

Sungmin instantly hardened his expression. "Is someone bothering you?"

"N-no."

Sungmin seemed unsure of his denied answer. "I think a caretaker, a teacher is one of the most respectable jobs there is. No one should tell you any different."

Donghae was stunned at his direct approach. "I know." He said afterward. "Thank you." He said sincerely as he handed over the report.

Donghae waved until the two left his sight, feeling just a bit better about himself as he returned to the nursery school's classrooms.

-

Outside, Sungmin handed his brother a drink. "How was school today?"

"Good," The boy replied, gulping his juice. "He asked about you again."

Sungmin opened his own drink, "Did he now?"

The boy nodded. "And he said if he gets me in trouble, it's just to get you to come over."

"Mmm." Sungmin mused.

The high sun rose above them as their hands swayed back and forth, the young boy hopping every so often over the sidewalk.

The boy then remembered. "Ah, he asked if you were with someone..." He stopped in his tracks and looked up at his older brother. "What do I say?"

"Tell him the truth." Sungmin replied.

"That you don't?"

Sungmin smiled in place, exchanging looks with his brother who smiled mischievously. "Of course."

-

Donghae stood idly by, straining his neck and greeted each parent that walked in that morning. Sungmin stood outside, kneeling down as he fixed his brother's shirt.

Donghae had forgotten to look away when Sungmin stood up and inadvertently met his gaze, Donghae returned a quick smile.

To his surprise, Sungmin smiled as well.

Donghae stood there, stunned. The little boy walked in and then tapped the man's legs, Donghae looked down and knelt, a small envelope in his hands as the boy hurried to his seat.

Donghae opened it, reading the message inside and widened his eyes.

If he paid attention, he would have noticed the young's boy snicker and laughing eyes, proud of the look on his face.

-

He cleared his throat, his heart about to burst as he swayed from side to side impatiently, much like the first day of school, his nerves had never been so bad.

"Have you been waiting long?"

Donghae looked behind him at Sungmin's soft smile. They stood in the corner behind a giant sign in the middle of the city, the exact meeting place and time that was written in the note.

"On time," Donghae said, cringing at his own staggered tone. He needed to control his nerves around him.

They walked by the streets, Donghae mostly silent as Sungmin talked.

"Do you not want to be here?" Sungmin asked abruptly, noting the other's thinned lips.

Donghae instantly straightened himself, "Not at all. I was just-"

He tripped over a pothole and landed beside a food stand.

Donghae flinched as Sungmin helped him clean up afterward, sitting in an isolated corner by the parking lot. "It's alright, I can do it myself. I'm... clumsy." He admitted as he reached for the paper towels, embarrassed over what had happened.

Donghae shifted his eyes when Sungmin stepped away for a moment, once Donghae had finished, the other had returned with two cream filled pastries. Donghae shyly took one and bit into it.

His one chance, and he was effectively ruining it.

"I'm sorry," Donghae said afterward. "I ruined the evening."

Sungmin sat beside him, biting into the pastry and looking up at the dim light above them. "You know," He said, "I think your recipe is a lot better than this. What do you think?"

Donghae noticed how intently Sungmin was staring at him, waiting for an answer. "I think its fine."

"You shouldn't be modest." Sungmin commented, finishing the rest of the pastry. Donghae followed suit when Sungmin reached over and brushed his messy hair.

Sungmin smiled, "It seems you need someone to take care of you every once in a while."

-

His mood had for the most part, was dejected. But he forced a smile nonetheless as he made his rounds in class. His co-worker arched an eyebrow and interrogated him.

"I'm guessing your date didn't go well?" She asked in a low voice, making sure the children didn't hear.

Donghae refused to admit it, but it was clear that it did. He made a fool of himself.

He looked down when the young boy tapped his leg, Donghae knelt down. The young boy gestured for him to move closer and Donghae did so.

"H-He said," The boy started, trying to remember the message. "He said you didn't ruin the... ening? Evening."

Donghae almost moved away in shock but the boy pulled him roughly back. Clearly mad, he wasn't done yet.

"And that," He whispered. "You can make it up on the next date."

For the rest of the day, his mood had improved significantly.

-

Donghae had lost count of what date it was now, but gradually over the course of their developing relationship his demeanor had changed. Relaxed, he let himself enjoy Sungmin's company, no longer restrained by nerves.

"What is the one thing you want most?" Sungmin asked.

Donghae debated whether to admit his goal.

"You still don't want to change jobs, do you?" Sungmin asked, narrowing his eyes. "If someone's still bothering you about that-"

"It's not that," Donghae said, his hands in his pockets as he straightened himself a bit. Sungmin played with the edge of his sunglasses as Donghae finally admitted,

"I want to be the person you like most."

Sungmin paused, glancing at his honest expression. "The person I like most is my brother, no one will ever take that place from him."

Donghae nodded slowly, feeling rejected by that reply.

"However," Sungmin continued. "There's still a spot for second place."

Donghae smiled inwardly as he stood closer. "I'll try my best."

"That's not a good enough answer." Sungmin said. He tapped his cheek, similar to how Donghae punished the young kids when they had done something wrong.

"I will be the one you like most."

"Better." Sungmin said, fixing his collar and then fixing his bangs. Their eyes met in the process, and Donghae shyly looked down.

Sungmin pulled his collar until their lips met. Once parted, Sungmin asked, "When will you initiate the next kiss I wonder."

Donghae fell silent. Sungmin smirked triumphantly as he continued walking, waiting a short distance away as Donghae remained rooted to his spot, processing what had occurred.

Once Donghae blinked, realizing the absence beside him, he looked around and ran to Sungmin's side. When the man chuckled at his hurried expression, he felt a bit better, having finally become an exception to the man's once indifferent attitude.

He was every bit of Sungmin's type, and he sighed elatedly at the thought.
