Heechul shifted his eyes from one side to the other as Siwon read the book across from him. Both visited the local bookstore as they always did, yet he found the bookstore boring while it was Siwon's favorite place to be. Heechul needed something to do, and the scene erupting in front of him by the cash registers caught his attention.
"Let's do something fun today." Heechul suddenly stated.
Siwon looked up. "What exactly do you want to do?"
Heechul smiled as he watched the cashier fumble with the books in his hands. The cute customer merely smiled as he waited patiently for the cashier to scan them.
"Lets play cupid." Heechul smirked. Siwon arched an eyebrow as he watched Heechul leave his seat and walked over after the customer had already left through the adjacent double doors. He noted the cashier's defeated sigh. Heechul walked in front of the line and leaned on the counter. He glanced at the cashier's name tag. "You should just ask him out Yesung, before someone else decides he's too adorable to be single."
Yesung snapped his attention upwards and widened his eyes. "S-sir?"
Heechul's smile widened. "I've seen the way you looked at him, obviously interested but otherwise complete inept at actually coming through."
Yesung eyed the impatient customers waiting behind him. "Sir, I need to handle these customers, so if you would-"
Heechul grabbed a magazine from the rack and placed it on the table. "I'm a customer now, so that's fixed. Now how do we go about fixing you up with him?" Yesung's cheeks reddened as he scanned the magazine. "Do you even know his name?"
Yesung gulped. "I don't really like talking about my personal life, and that will be a 1.99." Heechul narrowed his eyes as he took the entire rack of magazines and placed them on the counter. "Can't get rid of me that easy." He gave a swift glare to the groaning customers behind him.
Yesung sighed again as he continued scanning. "Ryeowook." He disclosed.
"Mmm, he comes by often or do you just stalk his credit card receipts?" Yesung turned an even darker shade of red. "Ah, you stalker, but I applaud your effort. But if you ever do become an item, I would choose not to mention that." Yesung gave a slight nod. "Are you always this quiet?"
Yesung barely glanced up. "I take that as a yes." Heechul muttered. "Means you need my help even more than I thought." He clapped his hands together. "I'll come by once you're done with your shift, and you can't say no." He said, Yesung took a deep breath as he reluctantly agreed.
"That will be 45.99, sir."
Heechul pushed the magazines back. "I'm good, decided I didn't want them in the first place." He smiled triumphantly as he walked out and left Yesung to drop his head, wondering what exactly he got himself into.
The next night, Siwon waited at home when Heechul slammed the door open and back as he roughly threw his jacket onto the ground. "What happened?" He asked in concern.
Heechul threw his shoes at the door. "I am going to kill him!" Heechul declared.
"Killing is a sin." Siwon pointed out.
"Then you better start praying." Heechul warned. "That guy can't do a single thing right! I tell him to go talk to him, he keeps tripping over nothing...over and over again. I tell him to ask for his name the legal way, he ends up talking to a poster. When I finally get him to get close enough to Ryeowook, he just fumbles completely over what he's saying and ran away! HE RAN AWAY THAT LITTLE-" Siwon turned away from the string of profanities that followed afterward.
"We're going to need a miracle... Where's a Priest when you need one." Heechul muttered, he looked at Siwon's suddenly cheerful expression. "Ignore my last sentence." He ordered as he stomped off towards the bedroom. He needed to come up with better battle plans for this one.
After a whole week of failed attempts and apologies to customers who were unfortunately involved in the mess. Heechul had had it and Siwon felt sorry for the baffled man who was now up against a corner.
"I have plenty of wisdom when it comes to love, but you ruin every opportunity I give you." Heechul said through gritted teeth. He then pointed to his eyes. "Do you see the dark bags under my eyes?! Just know that a wise man sleeps better at night when you finally decide to ask that guy out because otherwise he will be forced to do something very drastic and will use very deadly force."
Yesung backed further into the wall and glanced at Siwon who nodded. "He's serious." Yesung widened his eyes even more.
"I-I'll try-"
"NO STUTTERING!"
"O-okay." Heechul strengthed his glare at Yesung. Heechul huffed as he shoved Yesung towards the direction of Ryeowook who was once again in the bookstore, looking through the cooking section. Heechul grabbed Siwon's hand and dragged him alongside him as they eavesdropped from the opposite side of the bookshelf.
Yesung cleared his throat. "Do you need help with anything?" Heechul already felt the need to throw confetti in the air, Yesung had actually said something to the right person without stuttering. It was a huge achievement.
Ryeowook shook his head. "I'm fine, thank you though." Ryeowook returned to his books, Yesung fidgeted with his fingers as he looked back at Heechul's murderous glare. Yesung quickly turned back around. "You really like cooking don't you?"
Ryeowook nodded. "I always cook dinner, otherwise my roommate would throw a fit." Yesung dropped his smile, uncertain if his roommate really was just a roommate.
Heechul slapped himself on the head. "There goes any confidence he just had." He was about to walk out when Siwon held him back by his forearm. He nudged towards them and Heechul noticed that Yesung hadn't actually left his spot. Yesung gulped as he once again tried for conversation.
"Cook books are fine, but we have other good selections throughout the store. Like our special interests section, it has plenty of books on magic tricks." Ryeowook looked up from the book, Yesung gave a weak laugh as he ran his fingers through his hair. "I noticed you bought a book on self-taught magic tricks two weeks ago."
Heechul slapped Siwon's shoulder this time. "I told him not to mention being a stalker and what does he do?" He shook his head disapprovingly as he continued to watch.
Ryeowook chuckled, somehow unfazed by his statement. "I did try, but self-teaching is a lot harder than I realized. I work better with a teacher I think."
Yesung gulped once more, he clutched his fist as he slowly worded. "I-I know some tricks, I could show you some if you wanted. They're easy to learn too."
Ryeowook blinked before slowly giving an eager smile. "I wouldn't want to be a bother."
Yesung immediately shook his head as he returned a timid smile. "You wouldn't be, not at all." He looked down, his cheeks completely flushed.
Ryeowook nodded. "Okay then," Yesung widened his eyes along with Heechul and Siwon who gaped. "I can't wait for our first lesson." He chuckled, Yesung gave a nervous laugh but quickly nodded.
"It's a date then." Yesung froze at his own words, Heechul dropped his head into his hands. "I-I mean, wait, I meant-"
"It's fine." Ryeowook bit his lip as he clutched the book in his hand. He looked up and grinned. "A date it is then." Yesung beamed as he offered his help with the books and soon enough Heechul was hearing their future plans; as well as Yesung's relieved sigh when he heard the roommate was really just a roommate.
"Can't believe he actually did it." Heechul said out loud. "Him of all people actually did it." He said in still shock as he walked away from the bookshelves.
Heechul walked out of the store with Siwon in tow. "Those two finally got together... A good thing since I was about this close to wringing that guy's neck for being so-Ugh!" Heechul gestured placing his hands around the imaginary neck. Siwon laughed.
"I can't help but think that Ryeowook likes him too."
Heechul scoffed as he dropped his hands. "Of course he does, I noticed it the first day I saw him but he's just as shy. Yesung was easier to get a hold of too. I make an amazing Cupid, sprinkling magic fairy dust on everyone."
Siwon furrowed his eyebrows. "I think you mixed up a few characters-"
Heechul shushed him. "Either way, I did do a good thing didn't I?" He said confidently.
Siwon laughed. "You did." He ruffled Heechul's hair, who immediately scowled as he tried to fix it.
"And since we've been in that bookstore for so long, I think its time for me to do some shopping." Heechul smirked. "A good deed doesn't come free, in exchange I demand something amazing and preferably expensive." Siwon dramatically widened his eyes and reached to protect his wallet when he felt it was gone.
Heechul waved it in front of his face and then ran for the stores as Siwon chased after him, laughing as he went ahead on his well deserved shopping spree.
