Truth about Lies - Finally

Jan 19, 2005 10:21

Sorry it has taken so long. I was reading a rather large book and I got hooked and have not been on the internet at all. So here is the answers to that lies in the Truth thing I did back on http://www.livejournal.com/users/nyx_wench/34291.html

1. I am part Greek. LIE - I was born in El Salvador, but my grandfather on my Dad's side was Italian.
2. I speak three languages. TRUTH - I speak: English, Spanish and French.
3 I have 5 siblings (including step siblings) TRUTH - I have 2 sisters, 1 adopted brother and 2 stepsisters.
4. I own two firearms. TRUTH - I do own a 9 millimeter Beretta Cougar and a 7-shot .357 Magnum Revolver.
5. I have had major surgery removing a tumor . LIE - My sister had a tumor removed when she was twelve that had grown around one fallopian tube and one ovary. She can have kids and does have her period every month.
6. My mother and stepmother unwittingly wore the same dress on my wedding day. TRUTH - It was purely accidental. And funny as hell.
7. My mother-in-law believes that if you open an egyptian tomb the mummy will curse you. TRUTH - Yep, straight out of her mouth one night. They were showing the tomb being open on t.v. My boyfriend (then now hubby) and I were saying "Damn we forgot to set the VCR. She said "I am not watching that, I am not even going to have the t.v. on because if you watch that the Mummy will curse you." She was not joking. Believed it like it was the gospel truth.
8. I once had a tree fall on me and nearly crush me a la Wil E. Coyote style. TRUTH - I was on a cliff 30 feet up from a water fall with my youth group. We had finished rapelling and were trying to set up a zip line. The guys, 8 of them, were trying to tighten the rope. They pulled the huge tree down. I could not move either way. One was down the cliff the other was blocked by heavy unpassable shrubs. I looked up watched it fall took a few steps and crouched down as it hit me. If not for the boulder that stopped it from crushing me I would have been smushed. My sister saw it all. So did other people on the other side. One friend told me it looked like a cartoon. I looked up and ran along its path and still got hit just like Wil E. Coyote. There was no other place to go. I was really sore. My back was majorly sore. I could not jump down the 30 feet to the pool where the waterfall ended because it was only 2 1/2 feet deep.
9. I have backpacked ( no tents) through the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. TRUTH -  Again with the youth group. We backpacked along the Mountains in N.C. Had no showers, went white water canoeing, Rapelling, Rock Climbing, carried our own food. It was great and tough. We had to tie up the food in a bag up a tree because of the animals.
10. I have lived in the same city all my life. LIE - Nope. I was born and lived until I was four in San Salvador, El Salvador in Central America
11. I have a black belt.TRUTH - I have a black belt in a Japanese style Ju-Jitsu. NOT BRAZILIAN I do not roll around on the floor and hit people. What I do is mainly self defense.
12. I once whistled "It's a Small World" in the elevator of the Empire State Building.TRUTH - I was in the elevator, it was packed it was taking forever to reach the top. When I started whistling, my sister Julie and I could not stop laughing.
13. I have broken both my collar bones.TRUTH - I broke the right one when I was very small. The left collar bone I broke as a result of Ju-Jitsu. It was immensely painful. Do not want a repeat. It healed kind of funny and I have a bump on my bone you can feel.
14. I was born outside the U.S.TRUTH - See answer to question #1 and #10
15. I backpacked for a month in Europe with a boyfriend.LIE - Would have loved to but did not.
