Have you ever had one of those times when you have wanted to visit a place, have been so close and yet torn between stopping or not? Good gawd that place is incredible! I'd love to see it as well. it's incredible people built structures like that so long ago!
I would soooo love to see that basillica from the inside!

Incredible doesn't even get close. The basilica was beautiful inside with a fantastic stained glass window.

Amazing!!

... people still live and work within this ancient city...what a cool place to head off to each day.

I wonder if they feel this way .. or because it's familiar, they don't even think about it, We so often don't appreciate what we have until others point it out.

People find it amazing that I take for granted some of the exoticness of Vancouver. You do get used to it after awhile but sometimes you stop and realize that it's pretty nice.

This castle is pretty far out. I'm ready to move in myself. I looked up Carcassonne on Wikipedia and from there learned about Langue d'Oc and from there the Cathars. Who knew?

You have to remember that this isn't just a castle...it's a fortified city...and yes, the whole region has references to the Cathars. I love history!
