You *will* get persecuted by someone from it, trust me. Probably his wife and stepkids I would assume... I think one of the main issues you need to address is always telling your children that telling you was *right* and what this guy did was *wrong*...because they'll likely be faced with ridicule and persecution as well when/if this gets out, and they need to be reassured when they start to doubt their own actions.
