Notes: It’s not a history itself, but a collection of canon and not-so-canon moments. Spoiler of Water Seven. English is not my first language so I hope there are not too much errors (And if there are, my apologies here)
#21 - Fool
She looked away when he answered that he couldn’t bear pirates like those; “Pirates are traitors, that’s the usual” murmured the young woman, giving him the straw hat.
#41 - Power
Maybe he’s made of rubber and punches don’t affect him; however, she soon got the knack to hit him hard enough to stun him and even make a nice bump too.
#34 - Sing
Apart from meat, Luffy loved to sing, mostly funny and happy songs about the sea, the sun shinning in a new day -however, Zoro didn’t share his entuthiasm.
#01 - Motion
Luffy was hyperactive, a body full of endless energy and a misterious mind which seemed only able to work on crazy ideas; Nami, exhausted by trying to impose a little seriousness in the past few weeks, felt deeply asleep, but ironically it seemed that Zoro was the only one to notice.
#26 - Goodbye
Maybe, when she had reunited the money and bought Kokoyashi, maybe they would let her join again because Luffy may not have found another navigator, and then they would sail far, far away.
#05 - Wrong
Seeing Nami crying was just wrong, and Luffy put his hat -Shanks’ strawhat, his most precious treasure - on her head, and shouted with all his rage and pride that nobody hurt his nakama.
#19 - Soul
Something broke inside her -she tried not to cry again, but it was impossible, just like saying “Thank you” to her nakamas- at the same time she felt warm and complete
#49 - Hunger
It was the first time he saw Nami in the kitchen, at night - she gave him a murderous look, saying If I were you I wouldn’t open the fridge, but then she invited him to a tea
#44 - Wall
Luffy tried to convice her the view was worth to see, but Nami always refused saying that she had a lot to stuff to do, or that it was a dangerous place (“Don’t worry, I’ll catch you if you slip!”)
#18 - Attention
He was bored, so he sat and started watching Nami’s tangerine hair, how she put a lock behind her ear absently, unaware of the captain’s gaze
#42 - Bother
She saw at the mirror that Sanji had stopped praising her to hit Luffy; he had been all the day running and jumping and making noise, though she had the felling (woman’s intuition, she guessed) Sanji’s anger had nothing to do with the fact that the captain was wearing trousers on his head.
#02 - Cool
He smiled when Vivi explained why Nami’s navigation skills were so impressive; obviously, the future King of Pirates had the best navigator.
#11 - Blur
It was so hot and cold at the same time, and all too confusing, but *thanks heavens* she could still hear her crewmates’ voices, specially Luffy’s, who spoke the loudest.
#09 - King
Vivi asks her why she is so sure that they will succeed, and Nami smirks and replies in a moking tone “Oh, trust me, Luffy won’t loose; you know, he is going to be the Pirate King”; both girls smile while he runs away from Sanji -later, they realize it was not exactly a joke
#47 - Harm
Yes, definitely to harm himself by doing a scar down of his left eye was something which Luffy was capable of
#06 - Gentle
Being punched is not very pleasant, but he doesn’t care at all -not only because he’s a rubber man; it’s that she doesn’t want to hurt in that way
#35 - Sudden
She kept a shriek - since when was Luffy so quiet while she worked on her sea charts, just watching her without a word?
#48 - Precious
“My hat! Where’s my hat?” he asked inmediately looking for Nami; Chopper begun to jump for his attention, grabbing his captain’s treasure.
#38 - Wash
Nami took a deep breath, enjoying the breeze and the smell of soap, and hunged Luffy’s red shirt, ignoring Zoro’s shouts for help, trying to save Usopp’s clothes from the orange cocodrile.
#39 - Torn
He has just trown all the papers to the floor and, well, the room is all messed up, and in normal circumstances it would be not a big deal (Luffy always messes all up), but they know her dream of make the world’s map, and only when their captain lows his head and apologises Nami starts to yell and threats them with a debt of 100,000 berris
#14 - Command
Nami was so used to making orders that it puzzled her when Luffy said “No” with those face and voice that did not seem his.
#43 - God
He and Nami were on a cloud , he had just kicked God’s ass, saved thousands of people, and the only thing he had in mind was if they would have heard the bell.

Somehow, somewhere on the way -maybe since she met Luffy- Nami had started to believe again.

“Hey!” Nami gasped, trying to hide again the money in her Not So Secret Place Anymore “You know, with that we could buy two golden monkey statues for the ship”

She didn’t want him to drown, so she always refused every time Luffy asked her to give him the waver “for practise”

She had dreamt about Bellemere; they were under the tangerine trees, and her mother was smiling while Nami told her all their adventures - “I’m glad you’re happy, Nami-chan”
#15 - Hold
Sometimes they had a party and they ended so tired that they fell asleep all together, a mound of arms and legs tangled up, so Nami wasn’t supposed to feel remorse if she woke up too close to him
#08 - Thousand
Just like he knew hundreds of different recipes, the cook declared that Nami had a thousand smiles, each one with its own shine and reasons; Luffy didn’t remember it all, but he knew that when she smiled, it lit up her face, and all was fun and adventure.

“Behind every successful man is a clever woman” said Robin casualty, turning a page of her book; Nami frowned - just a moment ago she had been complaining about how mad and chidlike was their captain and why on earth I had to meet him
#25 - Shadow
He couldn’t face anybody: he couldn’t face Chopper crying more than himself; he didn’t want to hear Zoro’s words about being a captain; he couldn’t stand Sanji’s look, he didn’t want to remember Nami packing all her stuff, the feeling of she being right when she said a ship didn’t worth that, she being only a shadow of herself, all being just shadows while they left the Going Merry and Usopp.
#36 - Stop
“Nami?” -The navigator moaned, her face close to his chest because she didn’t want to look down, breathing scared on his skin- “We have arrived five minutes ago”
#10 - Learn
They’d seen the best and the worst of human being; however, life had still a lot to show, and when all ended, they would face it together, without regrets
#02-Young
“…Here’s the city council and this is the main square…there’s a lot of stuff in the market, really… and this is Makino’s bar, she’s very nice, you would like her …Ace and I lived on a small house, a bit far from the village, but everyday we went to eat at Machiko’s and Ace spent hours trying to fish something and meeting pirates… and there were mikan farms too, but not as good as ours… nice map, isn’t it?"

Occasionally Luffy would talk to her and say something about his dreams, his past, his thoughts of the future and she would desire she was so honest, tell him about everything.

Luffy imagined the future just like now: they would sail across all the oceans, searching for adventures and fulfilling their dreams, but always all of them, together, like a family; Nami didn’t reply at that, her eyes fixed on the sea with a strange shine in them.
#31 - Book
It was the first time she did see Luffy reading or, rather said, looking for something in her little library, trowing all the books on the floor; after “explain” him why he must not do it, she helped him in the search of some information about Roger’s route, althought she was pretty sure there was none.

Well, she might had a little crush on him, so what?
#27 - Hide
It wasn’t too bad after all- she just had to pretend that nothing happened to her, though Robin was a relief (because she knew that the archaeologist did know even they never talked about the subject)

They had only a few hours for departing again to where the Log Pose marked, and she had only seen a few shops- “Ok, Luffy, I’ll buy you an ice cream, but you have to share”
#12 - Wait
Patience was a virtue that Nami wasn’t disposed to waist when, for example, her crewmates did nonsense, but she knew that Luffy needed time -or that was she wanted to believe.

“Maybe I should charge 100,0000 berris for each photo, don’t you think so?” she said to Robin, secretly enjoying Luffy’s grin when the snapshooter showed to him and Zoro the picture he had just fished.
#45 - Naked
Subtlety is an art; Nami knows that details are the most important, so there she is, next to him, fighting, keeping them away from storms and things like that, holdind his hat, discussing seriously with him if necessary, and being above all his nakama; however, there are moments when Luffy seems to understand, and then there it goes again, her stomach contracting and the wish to just let herself go
#32 - Eye
He actually found it out - one day Luffy observed that Nami’s look and voice had something weird in them, but he didn’t know her reasons neither why he had the feeling that she was so close and so far away at the same time.

They never hug, they never had more physical contact than necessary, she never thanked him in words all the things he had done, not only for her, but for the entire world, he never treated her in other way different for the rest although somehow she was not like them; they smiled everytime Usopp cheered, clearly referring to them, “Here’s for the king and queen!!”

Scratching his face, he asked Nami; after a moment of puzzlement, the navigator gliggled “You just need to shave, Luffy. Sanji will tell you how”, and she looked at the newspaper again, smiling amused, although Luffy didn’t see what was so funny - it itched like hell!
#22 - Mad
“We are nakama, remember?” she seems so scared; Luffy takes her by the shoulders -he is yelling and he doesn’t even notice that he is hurting her.
#07 - One
Nami is, after all, human, so she has her moments of weakness - I thought you were shot and his warm hand is on her stomach; I saw the blood he stares at her, she feels each one of the fingers and his palm on her skin and she has forgotten how to breathe-, but she has the enough strength to move over and tell him that Chopper has already healed her -You know, I’m not made of rubber she jokes; Luffy seems strangely annoyed by that.
#04 - Last
Someday she would, yes, when she was sure about her feelings, when Luffy had matured a bit, when he had found the One Piece and become the King of Pirates; someday they would have the talk and, oh my god, then there would be no point of return
#24 - Now
He doesn’t remember how many years have passed, how many islands they have been in, how many enemies they have fought; he knows this is not the end of the world, but if it were, he would be happy because at least Nami is there.
#29 - Safe
“Luffy” she says, nearly breathless, so exhausted like him, but enjoying the victory’s taste “You’re incredible” Nami smiles and closes her eyes; the captain grins in response, as always.

- #21 is based in the spanish official translation of volume 5, chapter 40, page 6; after seeing some fan scantalions in english, I deciced kept it like this, ‘cause I rather prefer that translation and it could be a lost scene between Luffy and Kuro’s fight and Arlong’s saga.
- # 42 makes a little reference to the 4th ending “Watashi ga iru yo”
- #38 is based on the colorspread of chapter 317
- # 39 is based on anime-only chapter 132
