Name: Jetstorm
From: Transformers Animated
Appearance:

Age: It's never said, but I'm saying the Cybertronian equilivant of sixteen.
Gender: Male
Personality: Members of the Autobot Elite Guard are the living embodiment of strength, discipline, morality and bravery. Jetstorm somehow seemed to have skipped the days that discipline and self control were hardwired into the recruits however. More than likely a byproduct of his civilian upbringing, he is a very excitable mech, seeing everything through the scope of childish fancy and ideals. This isn’t to say that he’s a bad solider. He is highly skilled in battle, his enthusiasm and confidence serving him well. However, he has issues acting without thinking, and given he was still learning about his strengths, his self control is less than perfect. But he does his best to live up to the Autobot ideals, even if those around him regard him with suspicion. Not that he allows this to bother him.

When paired with his brother, Jetstorm seems to be at his happiest, though the two tend to be rather bad influences on each other. They show affection more often than not by wrestling and trading insults, though they do obviously care for each other deeply. Their telepathic link allows them to share thoughts and feelings much more efficiently than words allow, and so Jetstorm’s grasp of spoken language was never the best-why bother when you have a much better way to talk to someone? He’s very loyal to those that he considers friends, to the point of blind trust.

Those that are more withdrawn see him as annoying, too clingy, by reason of his hyperactivity mischievous streak, which while it does hinder him in many respects, it sometimes comes in helpful. Because of his link with his twin, Jetstorm has never really been alone, but if he is, he would more than likely deal with it like he would deal with sadness- becoming withdrawn and sullen. Being separated from his twin for any great length of time is physically uncomfortable for him, if not straight out painful, so it's a situation he tries to avoid at all cost.

Given he has no memories of his earlier life, he clings to any attachments he makes to others, even in the case of his commanding officer, a mech who regards Jetstorm and his twin as little more than dangerous weapons. Even still, Jetstorm idolizes the mech, not admitting, or maybe just not realizing this view. He seems to believe others incapable of such uncaring thoughts, seeing everything through blinders of sincere optimism, more likely found in those much younger.

Despite how carefree he seems, Jetstorm is a very insecure mech. Constant reminders of how ‘unnatural’ he and his twin are leave him with an almost crippling feeling of inadequacy which he buries deeply behind layers of exciteability. He desperately wants to be accepted by those around him, and so does everything in his power to please potential friends, often not stopping to think about potential consequences until after damage has been done. When he does realize he’d done something wrong, he’s quick to apologize, seeing it as just another example of what everyone’s said about him since he could remember. That he was dangerous, not to be trusted.

While Jetstorm is a hyperactive easily distracted mech, he genuinely wishes to improve himself, and often will attatch himself to someone older and more skilled in some way shape or form in an attempt to learn. However, much like a young puppy, he tends to get in their way more often than not, so most of the mechs that could help teach him tend to avoid the young mech in an effort to save their own sanity. However, there are two mechs that seem willing to endure his company for various reasons, and if Jetstorm is not out on missions, or with his twin, he can be found with one of them, usually chatting their audios off, or hanging over their shoulder and trying to ‘help’ with whatever they’re doing.

However, Jetstorm rarely willingly strays far from his brother, the two more often than not found practically attatched at the hip. His twin is the most important person in his life, and should anyone harm or upset him, this would be the one thing that sparks a temper in the blue flier.

Backstory: Starting out life as a repair bot, Jetstorm was working alongside his twin, Jetfire, when an accident nearly offlined the two young bots. Seeing this as an opportunity, the Elite Guard used the two in an experimental procedure, reformattin them with Decepticon coding taken from Starscream, in the hopes of giving them the Decepticon exclusive ability to fly. This took some time, an upon waking, it seemed the twins recalled nothing about what had happened, or their lives before, instead almost immediately ribbing each other before wrestling like th young bots they were.

Given into Sentinel's charge for training, he was the one to give them their admittedly unimaginative designations. The two were quickly shown to be extremly powerful, and working together the two were even able to best the cyberninja Jazz. Concerned with how easily the two were able to complete training tasks that the twins weren't taking the situation seriously, the Guard used Starscream's Starscream's coding in a combat simulator, to show the twins what facing up against Decepticons would be like.

Starscream's coding proved too strong and soon overwhelmed the twins in combat. When Jetfire lost control of his flamethrowers, he nearly burned up, until Jetstorm was able to extinguish the blaze with his own wind cannons. It was only after this that the twins discovered their gestalt form, merging into Safeguard to finally defeat Starscream, allowing the simulation to finally be terminated. After this, the twins were inducted into the Elite Guard as junior officers.

On multiple occasions the twins accompanied their superior officer to Earth to fight Decepticons, and the first time they even got into a fight with Optimus and Ratchet, the Earthbound Autobots assuming the twins to be Decepticons due to the twins ability to fly. Once this was cleared up the twins became a valuable if not over enthusiastic asset in battle.

Eventually they return to Cybertron with Sentinel and the prisoners they'd managed to capture, only to have one of them free himself when Sentinel orders their ship through a storm. During the ensuing escape the twins are caught, but were freed along with the others when Optimus and his team show up on the scene. With their help the Decepticons were recaptured, and the ship finally returned to Cybertron.

When Ratchet and Fanzone found themselves on Cybertron, the twins were present as Sentinel had the two brought in for 'breaking curfew' among other things. After this, they were sent back to Fortress Maximus to prepare it to fire on Omega Supreme who was hanging in the sky over the city.
Moral Standing: Undeniably good, though sometimes his pranks may skirt the line, more from him not knowing any better, or not stopping and thinking things through than anything malicious.
Dreams: What does Jetstorm want? He wants a normal life for his brother and himself, one where they aren't regarded with suspicion at best, outright fear and disgust at worse.
Fears: The thing that he fears the most is that his brother will be hurt because Jetstorm failed him. That his brother would come to hate him. Being alone is another big fear for the mech. Also, he fears losing his ability to fly, and in conjunction with this, also enclosed spaces.
Extra: Any telepathic characters may find that he can speak to them through this manner-- similar to his method of communicating ith his bother, however given there's no bond, the strength of his communication will be rather unreliable.

Also? He turns into a jet.
