So, my engine overheated twice on thursday. I brought it to Independent Auto (which I love and highly recommend, by the way), and I've been bumming rides ever since. That's not really the point, however. The point is that the problem is a cracked radiator, which is going to cost be about $300 to repair. Now, as far as shit goin' wrong with your car

You are really lucky that all you have is a cracked radiator. A cracked radiator kills engines like they were puppies. One time my radiator was leaking, but the thermostat said "no, it's fine." Little did I know that thermostats don't work without water in the radiator! As I was driving on the interstate, my engine melted down in about five minutes.
